Following a tensed political atmosphere within the Minority Caucus of the Imo State House of Assembly, where they were suspected of  dumping their party PDP  for the All Progressive Congress, APC, suspicion became rife that the Lawmakers who were elected under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, may be bidding the party farewell in no distant time.
On the contrary, one of the Members was matter of discourse over the weekend as his picture  appeared where he posed with the Governor  Senator Uzodinma dominated the internet.
Reacting, the Oguta House Member, Hon. Frank Ugboma lashed the purveyors of such defection rumour.
In a telephone chat with Trumpeta Correspondent on Saturday night, Ugboma described the rumour as unfounded and lies from the pit of hell.
He argued that if at all such a bigwig of the PDP like him would shift camp, it wouldn’t be in the church.
He jokingly asked our Correspondent, “So I joined APC in the church?”.
Ugboma stated that he only attended a prayer meeting with other political leaders in the chapel, and happened to exchange pleasantry with the Governor.
“I shouldn’t exchange pleasantry with the Governor? Are we enemies?”, he further asked.
The Oguta House Member also disclosed that from the chapel, he headed to another function.
Hon. Ugboma therefore enjoined the public to disregard the rumour, as he maintained that he is still a bona-fide member of the People’s Democratic Party, and would make it public if at all he would leave the party.
“I am a full fledged member of PDP. I am a Lawmaker elected under PDP. I have no reason leaving the party for APC. But let me ask, even if I am to join APC, would it be inside the Church? People should stop making empty postulations that have no basis”, Ugboma stated.
It would be recalled that since the inception of the 9th House, Hon. Ugboma who occupies the Deputy Minority position has been a strong voice in the opposition caucus.
Not only that he fires back at the Majority whenever they raise certain bills and motions, Ugboma believes in fair hearing and people-oriented legislation, hence the acronym in some quaters as the  “controversial Lawmaker”.
