Bede Eke Showers Constituents With Agric Produce, Seeding

Member representing Aboh Mbaise / Ngor-Okpala Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Bede Eke on Friday distributed Agricultural materials to farmers in his federal constituency.
Items distributed to beneficiaries were;  Over One thousand Bags of Fertilizer, Improved Cassava stems, Carrot, Potato stems, Cartons of Cucumber, Water Melon, Pepper, Maize and Pumpkin Seedlings  including Pesticides and Herbicides.
Addressing the beneficiaries that were selected across the Federal Constituency, Prof Jude Njoku, former Vice Chancellor of Federal University Of Technology, Owerri, admonished beneficiaries to take advantage of the agricultural products and plant ahead of the next farming season, adding that as a farmer by training and practice, the farming seedlings distributed are rich and will yield bountifully while harvesting them. He further thanked the Federal Lawmaker for always making the party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP proud through his empowerment programmes.
In his remarks, Chief Morrison Njoku, the Chairman of the party, PDP in Ngor Okpala LGA appealed to the beneficiaries to ensure they cultivate the farming seedlings distributed. Also, he disclosed that the beneficiaries were randomly selected across the communities in the local government both in Aboh Mbaise and Ngor Okpala LGAs.
Also, the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Henry Ekpe emphasized on the quality of the Agricultural items distributed so far while commending the federal lawmaker for the kind gesture. He further commended the facilitators for carefully selecting women and career farmers as beneficiaries.
Mr William Eke, the producer of the popular Ngor Okpala Cucumber who spoke onbehalf of the farmers appreciated Hon Bede Eke for his gesture. According to him, the farmers who benefitted from the distribution of the Agricultural items will multiply what they got while praying for the success of the federal lawmaker in his legislative activities.
Presenting the items to beneficiaries at the flag-off of distribution of Agricultural materials to his  constituents, Hon Bede Eke encouraged them to go and multiply the farming seedlings that has been given to them and make sure the Federal Constituency becomes self reliant in food production. He urged his constituents to take farming as a second vocation more especially now ” that we are being threatened with food blockade by farmers from the northern part of the country.
He reiterated his resolve to make Aboh Mbaise/Ngor-Okpala federal constituency, the food basket of Imo State through his Agricultural Empowerment Programmes.
He thanked the leadership of the party and party faithful for their support and encouragement.
