The newly sworn-in Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem, has officially assumed office.
This was barely three days of his emergence as the speaker, after the impeachment of his predecessor, Rt. Hon. Chiji Collins, last Friday.
Emeziem represents Onuimo State Constituency, and a first timer in the Parliament.
Trumpeta Correspondent that monitored activities in the House yesterday observed that the fair skinned Speaker reported to the Assembly complex as early as 10am.
An interesting scene was the full claim of occupancy of the Speaker’s office, an office occupied by the ousted Speaker for the past one year and five months.
By that, the former Speaker and member representing Isiala Mbano has moved to another office, like every other elected Lawmaker in the 9th House.
Also, it was gathered that some official vehicles of the Speaker, formerly under the custody of Chiji have been returned to the New Speaker.
Immediately after his belongings were moved in, Speaker Paul Emeziem held a brief meeting with his colleagues in his office.
However, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem would be formally presiding over today’s Tuesday plenary session, marking the commencement of his era as a Speaker in Legislative business of the State.
