Two Kidnap suspects who disguise as personnel of the State Security Service have been arrested by operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad.

The suspects, 32years old Kingsley Ogugwo and Mohammed Ibrahim 28, it was gathered, kidnapped one Musa Inusa at Umuapu in Ohaji/ Egbema Local Government Area, a boundary between Imo and Rivers state.

According to intelligence report, the victim left Rivers state for Imo but was intercepted by the suspected kidnappers, who pose State Security Service, using an improvised black stick which served as rifle.

Operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS traced the suspects to Apani community in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers state where they were arrested.

“On 26/04/2020 at Apani Community in Ikwerre LGA of River State, at about 1620hrs, SARS operatives arrested two kidnap suspects. They are Kingsley Ogugwo ‘m’ 32 years old from Apani River State and Ibrahim Mohammed ‘m’.”

” They were arrested in connection with the kidnap of one Musa Inuwa ‘m’ on 22/04/2020 at approximately 2300hrs, at Umuapu in Ohaji/Egbema LGA Imo State, a boundary between Imo and Rivers States. The victim who left Rivers State to Imo was intercepted by these kidnappers who posed as personnel of State Security Service.”

Properties belonging to the victim which include an Ox blood Toyota Camry car was recovered at Ohaji Annex and the sum of #37,500 while an Infinix phone also belonging to the victim, was recovered from one of the suspects.

” The victim’s oxblood Toyota Camry with Reg. No. FST 371 EC and the sum of N37,500 was recovered by SARS Operatives Ohaji Annex. Also recovered was an improvised black stick which serve as rifle gun.”

“The victim’s Infinix phone was recovered from one of suspects. The victim who was release after payment of ransom has identified one of the suspects in whose possession the phone was recovered. Investigation has commenced.”

Armourer Hides Special Ammunition, Rifles in Shrine

A 31years old Chukwuemeka Nnane from Umudeyi, Oguta 1 in Oguta LGA of Imo state, has been arrested by operatives of Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS.

According to intelligence report, the suspect who hides he’s rifles in a shrine, popularly known as Armourer and “no stain”, has been on the wanted list of the police for murder and robbery.

The release also stated that, he belong to a notorious Ebuka Ukachukwu kidnap and robbery gang and were declared wanted by the police command since September 2019.

“On 04/05/2020 at Umudeyi Oguta 1, in Oguta LGA of Imo State, SARS operatives arrested one Chukwuemeka Nnane ‘aka’ No Stain aka Armourer ‘m’ 31 years old and recovered the following weapons; Fifteen live GPMG Special Ammunition, LAR rifle magazine, a police face-cap and a LAR rifle hidden inside a shrine.”

” It is interesting to note that the arrested suspect has been on our wanted list for murder and robbery. He belong to the notorious Ebuka Ukachukwu ‘aka’ Small witch gang of armed robbery/kidnapping who was declared wanted by the police command on 19/09/2019.”

Fifteen live GPMG Special Ammunition, LAR rifle magazine, a police face-cap and a LAR rifle hidden inside a shrine were exhibit recovered. Suspect has confessed to the crime.

” Suspects have confessed to the crime. During arrest, he sustained gunshot injury on his lower left leg. He was rushed to the Hospital, treated and discharged. Investigation is ongoing.”

It was learnt that the suspect, a 20yrs old native of Umuobasi Mbano, was arrested at Eziachi in Orlu, in possession of a Bareetta pistol while trying to rob some unsuspecting members of the public.

Investigation also revealed that Obinna Ohanete, Emeka Akulazu and one other at large, all males, were mentioned as gang members while a Barretta pistol was recovered as exhibit.

“On 19/2/2020 SARS Operatives arrested the above named suspect of Umuobasi Mbano LGA, Imo State. He was arrested at Eziachi in Orlu LGA with a barreta pistol while trying to rob members of the public.”

“He mentioned his gang members as Obinna Ohanete ‘m’, Emeka Akulazu and one Gerald surname unknown now at large. The suspects confessed to the crime while investigation is still ongoing.”

Members of the public has raised alarm over an uncompleted building along Wetheral road which become the den of armed robbers.

The building it was learnt, is located at number 62 Wetheral road, slightly opposite FCMB bank by MCC juntion.

Unconfirmed information revealed that, the said building belong to a former Governor (name witheld), and for sometime now, has strange movements around there.

This goes to prove claims recently that, other buildings around this particular uncompleted structure has been burgled and further claims robbery incidents are on the rise around the area.

Security agencies are advised to take appropriate measures.
