The Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State has suspended three local government party chairmen over what they described as Anti-party activities, capable of tarnishing the image of the party.
The state public relations officer of the party, Hon. Damian Opara told Newsmen after a brief meeting between the governor of Imo State, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, the party enlarged executive council and members of the PDP Board of Trustees including local government chairmen in the state.
According to him, the alleged Anti-party activities came to the fore at a time when the party’s developmental and supportive measures is at its peak. The suspended party chairmen include, Ideato South- Hon Tony Mbaegbu, Isu- Engr Anayo Udechukwu and Oru East- Hon Anayo Nwajezie.
He also revealed that the devoted party men as well as the Board of Trustees including Chief Dr Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Ahaejiagamba Ndi-Igbo, unanimously passed a vote of confidence on governor Ihedioha during the meeting, for his efforts, towards rebuilding the state.
In his words, “we have reviewed everything the governor has done since the swearing in, we are satisfied that he is carrying out our programs”, he submitted.
Chief Iwuanyanwu also seized the platform to assure Imo people that soon there will be water supply, good roads and everything will be put in place; he commended the present administration for running a non-partisan government.
