There are strong indications that a tsunami will hit Imo State chapter of the APC where the executives from State to LGA and ward levels shall be swept off for caretaker committee to take over affairs of the party.
Imo State chapter of the party has been witnessing schisms leading to the existence of factions dividing the rank and file of the members.
The troubles influenced by the outcome of party primaries may throw out the Daniel Nwafor led exco for a fresh caretaker committee, reports Trumpeta.
The newspaper learnt that the leadership of the party is worried over the continuous internal squabbles rocking the Imo State arm.
Authoritative sources revealed that the unfavourable outcome of the governorship primaries, results of National Assembly and State legislature exercises where agents of the governor lost out has made the Okorocha controlled State exco of the party to not only lose confidence of the national body but also make certain statements that are in disagreement with the interest of the NWC.
The days of Mr. Daniel Nwafor led Imo State chapter of the ruling, APC, may have been numbered, if the news reaching Trumpeta is anything to be considered. This newspaper was informed that for not been able to recognize the candidates of the party and show interest in their ambition irrespective of divide, Daniel Nwafor led exco may be facing the latest shock of handing over the baton of the State leadership of the party to a Caretaker Committee over a suspected anti party activity.
A dependable source revealed that plans are already on at the national secretariat to set up the caretaker committee following reports that the Nwafor exco and others may not work for the interest of the governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma and others not in Okorocha’s camp but are flying the party’s flag for various elective positions.
A recent media interactive session held in Abuja by the APC National Working Committee, NWC, led by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole had threatened to eject erring members from the party, over anti party affairs and litigations instigated by the members.
Trumpeta has it on good authority that the anointed candidate of the Okorocha faction, Uche Nwosu is among those named for sanction. And after dealing with him the party may dissolve state exco.
It would be recalled that before the controversial congress that brought in Nwafor led Executive, Chief Hillary Eke held sway. While the immediate past National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun inaugurated Eke at Abuja, the later, Adams Oshiomhole swore in Nwafor who has been working till date.
Trumpeta Newspaper gathered that should, Uche Nwosu fulfils his threat of going ahead with the court and later tents with another party, Daniel Nwafor who is an offshoot of the Nwosu camp would not be spared in the expected shake up.
