Reports of impeachment fever in the Imo State House of Assembly has entered another stage with aggrieved lawmakers making things difficult to the Speaker, Rt Hon Dr Acho Ihim over his behaviour in recent times especially, issuance of media releases.
Information has it that some members of the Imo House of Assembly are unhappy with Mr Speaker over the media releases emanating from his office in recent time without obtaining permission or getting consent of the members. The members are aggrieved that without having meeting with the entire lawmakers, to yet their individual view on the issues as take in Imo State. Ihim informs the public personal views about issues that affect the House and the State.
Trumpeta has it on good authority that the aggrieved members are still raizing eye brows on the ill treatment given to them by the government even as the eight (8) House has few months to go.
Trumpeta learnt that the Speaker and some members are already having a face off over the inability of the Rescue Mission government to provide good welfare package to the lawmakers and as a result they want a change to be effected without delay, therefore the aggrieved members of the House have maintained that Speaker Acho Ihim is on his own for now.
Few of the lawmakers who spoke to our reporter accused Speaker Acho Ihim of not representing them well and caring for their interest before the State Government and for that reason he cannot issue release without first having an interface with members to know their stand on the issues.
It would be recalled that Speaker Acho Ihim issued several media releases through his media aide to counter newspaper publications on the alleged impeachment.
