IDEATO AGOG OVER EZEIFEDI’S EMERGENCE

It was jubilation galore Midweek, in Ideato North LGA of Imo State, following the emergence of Engr. Ezeifedi Uchenna Gab Umeukeje as the State House of Assembly candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the area.

Engr. Ezeifedi who hails from Akpulu community in the Council area, dusted four other aspirants to come tops in the keenly contested primary poll held at Akokwa town hall.

A Prince of Umuokwaraehihe Royal dynasty in Okwu village, Engr. Ezeifedi, a humanitarian of repute and President, Ezeifedi GoodHope Foundation, EGF, sits atop Korent Services Nigeria Limited, a service provider in the oil and gas sector of Nigerian Economy with headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Engr. Ezeifedi, described by  many as the people’s friend, hence the title; Dikeoha, was said to have over paid his dues for the socio-political and economic development of Ideato nation, which according to a supporter, manifested in his over two decades humanitarian services.

An apparently excited supporter who simply gave his name as Remmy, quipped: “If there is anybody who need a pay back from the people of Ideato, that man is Ezeifedi; he has given education to the indigent through his scholarship programme; he has put food on the tables of the hungry; he has put roofs over the heads of the homeless, and given hope to the hopeless. So, Ezeifedi is not in politics because of money, it is for our own good. That’s why we’re happy”.

Political pundits in the area who spoke under the condition of anonymity, were of the view that Engr. Ezeifedi was hitherto, denied tickets of some political parties owing to his hardline disposition towards pacts that were anti-people. According to them, Engr. Ezeifedi abhors with passion, any agreement that would not accord him the freedom to serve the people with resources meant for them.

“Everything about his political journey has been targeted at the people. He has been doing that through his foundation for over thirty years without blowing the trumpet about it. So, we believe the time is ripe for him to manifest those rare virtues to the outside world, and nothing except God will stop him this time”, said a political watcher in the area.

In a telephone chat, Engr. Ezeifedi said he was humbled by the jubilation that trailed his victory at the primary contest, which he disclosed cut across party lines. According to him, “that is the fruit of worthy legacies”.
