The Senator representing Okigwe Senatorial zone, Distinguished Senator Ben Uwajumogu is set to represent President Muhammadu Buhari at the commissioning of the Auchi-Fuga Agenebode Road Gully Erosion Control project located in Edo State holding on Tuesday, September 18, 2018.
The Presidency, in a letter dated September 6, 2018; the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha conveyed the request of President Buhari to the Senator to represent him at the project commissioning.
Our reporter gathered that the project estimated at over N3 billion is expected to Control erosion in the area and save thousands of inhabitants of several communities in the state.
A source at the Presidency noted that Senator Ben Uwajumogu enjoys a special relationship with the President hence the decision to nominate him to represent President Buhari at the project commissioning.
In an exclusive interview, Senator Ben Uwajumogu commended the President for ensuring the timely completion of the erosion project which he noted would save several communities in Edo state from erosion menace.
He called on the people of Edo State, South South and South East to re-elect President Buhari for a second term to enable him complete all ongoing projects.
Senator Uwajumogu stated that the Govt of President Buhari has achieved remarkable milestones since 2015.
In another development, Senator Ben Uwajumogu has debunked ongoing speculation that he was bound to decamp to APGA stating that he remains a committed and dedicated member of the ruling party, APC.
Speaking to our reporter after an inspection of projects in Ehime Mbano LGA, Senator Uwajumogu said.”I am a member of NEC, a member of the national caucus of APC and a major stakeholder of the party in the South East, so I will be the last person to disembark the APC bus”. He called on members to remain committed to the ideals of the party noting that the current imbroglio in the party in the State will be resolved very soon. He added that the party will win all available positions from the House of Assembly to the Presidency.
Sen. Uwajumogu appealed to those who had defected to other parties to retrace their steps back to APC.
