The people of Ohaji/Egbema have been thrown into a mournful mood following the unexpected death of a top politician from the area, Prince Chinonye Ikegwuruka.
Late Prince Ikegwuruka died on Sunday night after he was rushed to Umezuruike Hospital, in Owerri, the State capital.
Popularly known as “Aluma Aluma Amara Dike” in the political circle, Trumpeta learnt that the former chairman of Ohaji/Egbema LGA after attending a political meeting on Sunday in his Ekwuato INEC ward returned home then went to Owerri before observing health challenges, which led to his collapse. He was rushed to the hospital before he died.
His death has thrown his Ohaji/Egbema people and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP into a sad situation.
Before now, Aluma Aluma was the pioneer chairman of the Consumer Protection Council, CPC, Imo State, during the Achike Udenwa regime. He was elected Council Chairman during the Ohakim era before their group was sacked by Okorocha in 2011. Until his death he was the South Coordinator of the CPC in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
