A factional arm of the Imo state APC, which consist mainly the followers of governor Rochas Okorocha, otherwise known as the Rescue Mission group has planned to hold its congress on Friday, Saturday and Monday and as a result has seen some allies losing their positions for others.

Information revealed that governor Okorocha and his team have finally dropped Chris Oguoma as acting chairman of Imo APC. Oguoma took over after the purported suspension of Hilary Eke.

The latest now is that one of Chief Uche Nwosu’s aide has been picked to replace Oguoma as Chairman.

Trumpeta learnt that in a meeting he held with stakeholders of Rescue Mission Tuesday in Government House,Owerri, the Governor was said to have approved nomination Daniel Nwafor , the SA Administration to the Chief of Staff to Imo Government as the new chairman to replace Oguoma who is now positioned to contest senate seat in Owerri zone.

The reasons for picking Uche Nwosu’s aide as the State APC chairman is not unconnected with the project to actualize Uche Nwosu as the next Governor of Imo State come 2019.

Nwafor is likely to start functioning as the new chairman any moment from now as Chris Oguoma has been asked to handover to him without delay.

Meanwhile the rescue mission will conduct Ward, LGA and State Congress officially starting on Friday, Saturday and Monday respectively.

The ward congress will take place on Friday July 20, 2018, while the local government and State congress will take place on Saturday July 21 and Monday 23 2018 respectively.

Governor Rochas Okorocha disclosed this to party leaders on Tuesday in Owerri during a meeting with APC stakeholders stating that the coast is now clear for Imo to have its own congress which could not take place last time due to crisis. The court has earlier ruled that there was no congress in Imo.

The governor directed that the congress should be conducted in line with the provisions of the party’s constitution and the electoral law.

He further advised that only credible candidates that can move the party (APC) forward at Ward, LGA and State level will emerge.

He therefore urged his people to remain focus and make sure that there is no distraction by the opposition group.

Apart from Nwafor, other top aides of Nwosu like Chikezie Nwadike and Fcc Jones Onwusanya are for State Organizing Secretary and Publicity Secretary respectively.
