Moved by the purposeful representation of the people of Mbaitoli state-constituency in the Imo House of Assembly by Hon. Ifeanyi Nnataraonye (Olugbu), the Diaspora-Ogwa Youth Association, a consortium of Ogwa youths living abroad has approved the re-election bid of the state lawmaker and indigene of Ogwa clan ahead of the awaited 2019 state House of Assembly election.
A communiqué issued to newsmen, last week in Owerri, signed by the state coordinator of the youth organization, Comr. Earnest Nnanna, and Secretary, Mr. Celestine Ejiofor, noted that the youth group deemed it most-necessary to assist in the return of Hon. Nnataraonye, considering his sterling legislative qualities, which it said, has made positive impact on the lives of the constituents, even in the face of the recent national economic recession, which greeted his election into the state legislature in 2015 as a first-timer.
Also commending the Mbaitoli state-lawmaker for his unflinching support, due respect and loyalty to the state deputy governor ,and illustrious son Mbaitoli LGA, Prince Eze Madumere in the discharge of his legislative duties, the statement, further stated that the group is deeply committed in ensuring that the lawmaker is reelected into the state Assembly, as to enable him complete outstanding development projects kick-started by the state government under the supervision of the Deputy Governor, Prince Madumere, by way of diligent oversight duties as a young and energetic lawmaker.
The group, however, enumerated notable achievements of Hon. Nnataraonye, which qualified him for reelection to include; the Anti-Female Genital Mutilation Bill, which gained overwhelming support of Imo citizenry, effective legislative oversight duties on the Imo International Modern Market, Egbeada-Ubomiri, Mbaitoli LGA, award of scholarships to Mbaitoli children of secondary school age, sponsorship for registration of JAMB examination into the Universities, and skills and entrepreneurial training for youth empowerment.
Other achievements, group said, are rehabilitation of the Afara-Orodo road, roads in Mbieri and other communities in Mbaitoli LGA, all through the help and support of the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere.
The Diaspora youth-group, however urged people of the state-constituency to secure their Permanent Voters’ Cards, PVC ahead of the election, in order to avoid disenfranchisement, as it cautioned that, any move to field another aspirant from Ogwa clan for the election amounts to distraction, and unpopular decision by a disgruntled few enemies of Ogwa clan.
