The spirit of APGA is the spirit of love, unity, peace, progress and fear of God. A true Igboman is imbued with this spirit from birth. This is why Igbos are special people and easily recognized wherever they are. But unfortunately today, due to the cares of this life and contaminations occasioned by mixing up with people of other races and tribes, many Igbos have lost this spirit of APGA which is their identity. But as God reminded prophet Elijah of the 7000 who had never bowed their knees to baal, even so today there are the few Igbos who still have this unique APGA spirit and have displayed it whenever occasion demands. Barr. Humphrey Anumudu is one of such few Igbos who have not been contaminated in any way. As a true Igboman, Barr Anumudu has committed himself to the upliftment of the lot of Igbos. Majority of whom are members of his party-Ali Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). He has identified himself with the on-going ward visitations by the state working committee (Sf APGA. This waid visitations caught the interest of Anumudu, hence his decision to support it with financial assistance to all the wards of APGA in the state (305 wards). No matter how little the financial assistance to the wards may be, it demonstrates love. And truly, APGA members ail over the state have been rejoicing, especially as Barr. Humphrey Anumudu has promised to regularly assist them financially in holding meetings. This action has further galvanized activities in our wards all over the state. Our great party has never had it so good. For now, Anumudu remains the only aspirant who has demonstrated this brotherly, APGA spirit on such a large scale.
Barr. Humphrey Anumudu’s love for APGA is partly due to the great job he has seen being performed by the National working committee (NWC) under the leadership of Dr. Victor Ike Oye and the state working committee (SWC) led by Sir Peter Ezeobi. As a man that loves progress and works for progress, Anumudu has fully identified with this greai job being performed by the great leaders of APGA. As a partner -in-progress, he is part of the task of expanding the scope of APGA because if such thing were done in aii states of Nigeria, APGA would be stronger and better positioned as a national party. Ban. Anumudu has even indicated his interest to be part of any arrangement that would deepen APGA In the consciousness of all Nigerians and make APGA the party to beat in any election in all states and aft:all levels. With APGA as Anumudu’s last political bus top, this can only be expected.
APGA is the only political story that Imolities want to hear today. They have been disappointed by the APC and PDP and now are earnestly calling up APGA to come up .and reposition them on the part of progress, joy and prosperity. This is why I call on other aspirants in APGA to emulate Barr. Humphrey Anumudu who is leading the way in expanding the scope of our great party. Aspirants should not be claiming to be supporting APGA only in words. They should be practical like Anumudu and help strengthen the party.
APGA and indeed our state is in need of a caring man like Barr. Anumudu who understands the needs of our people, has the capacity to deliver those needs and give them a sense of belonging. Imolities have suffered a lot in the hands of people who know almost nothing about what governance is all about We have been unfortunate to have governors who would abandon us after assuming office. They had come as pretenders believing our people to be gullible. But today, APGA has come to the rescue in the person of Barr. Humphrey Anumudu who has both the track record and mental stability needed to move Imo forward. His open-door policy is unmatchable and has made him easily accessible. He is a party man and not like those that see a political party as a vehicle conveying them to their destination. On getting to that destination, they part ways with the vehicle. This is wrong.
Those of us in APGA should consider! If Barr. Humphrey Anumudu is doing so much for our party at both LGA and ward levels with his personal resources, how much more when he becomes governor of the state! Then APGA members would become highly privileged people. We would be treated as kings at the Government House and all our needs would be met. Imo APGA members would also be as their brothers and sisters in Anambra state who are enjoying the benefits of being in government. Imo state in general would enjoy an organized government by an organized man. With these prospects, let us rally round Barr. Humphrey Anumudu for the good of our great party and of Imo state in the spirit of onye aghala nwanne ya. May God bless APGA and prosper Imo State.
