Worshippers at the Victory Chapel of Government House, Owerri were on Sunday shocked as the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha looked pitiable after he cried out over the unfriendly attitude of people towards him since he became the number one citizen of Imo State.

Speaking during the Church Service to mark the 44 years anniversary of creation of Imo, the Governor opened up on one of his experiences as the Chief Executive officer of the State by stating how people hate him through usage of uncouth languages against his person. Okorocha said that he is surprised that people gossip much about his name instead of discussing about the good works he has done for the state since he assumed office as governor.

He raised eyebrows on the way his detractors give false information about Imo State to the outside world instead of appreciating him for the good work that is going on in all parts of the state.

According to him, Imo was under bondage before 2011, but when he assumed office as Governor many things changed for good as the words of his mouth brought spiritual libration and change in mind set of the people. “Today I have stopped kidnapping, armed Robbery, intimidation and harassment because of power given to the people” Okorocha explained. Speaking further, Okorocha said he has placed Imo on the platform of judgment to any governor that will come after him, adding that after 2019 he will live Imo and may not plan to come back for politics. He maintained that he was deceived in 2011 to come and rescue Imo because of the bad statement of one man and he has finished his work.

“It is time up to go but you will remember me and cry one day if a bad governor comes to power”.

Similarly, amidst speculations by Imo State citizens that the out-going Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha will hand over power to his Chief of Staff, Chief Uche Nwosu as he vacates office in 2019, the Governor has opened up on how he met the young politician.

Speaking to Isiala Mbano LGA people, who came to pay him a courtesy call in Government House Owerri, Okorocha refused to confirm or deny that he would hand over power to Uche Nwosu, but said that he met the Eziama Obire, Nkwerre LGA born in 1999.

The Governor disclosed that he has maintained a close relationship with Uche Nwosu since then because he is a hard working “Boy”.

According to Okorocha “I don’t know Uche Nwosu from Adam. I met him on the road at Wethedral Road Owerri when I was contesting for Governor in 1999.

The Governor went on “Till today, I don’t know his father or mother. I brought him into my house because the boy is hardworking and sincere and from there he saw my daughter and married her. If not that, I don’t know him before. I have only been to his house once”.

Okorocha boasted that he has mentored emerging leaders in Imo State under his wings. He said that those he has produced as Aides cannot be compared to others who worked with former Imo State Governors in such capacities.

“So, I train Leaders. The difference between me and other past Governors is you will see the result from the lives and works of the people I trained. I have produced more millionaires, more leaders than anybody has produced in Imo State” he said.

Credible sources from Imo Government House told Trumpeta that Okorocha will unveil his chosen Aspirant to Imo Governorship slot this month, and the person may likely be Uche Nwosu, the husband to his first daughter Uloma.
