Permit me to use your medium “view point” to react to the captioned title in quotes. Chief, Barr. Humphrey Anumudu hails from the ancient “Anumudu lineage”. He knows what it means to be persistent in all he does. A humble, ever cheerful, determined man, Chief Humphrey Anumudu had made several sincere efforts to become the governor of Imo State. One may ask why he is so concerned to become the governor of Imo State.
All sincere Imolites will simply agree that humility is tested in obedience. Michael Ketuel wrote “The ever obedient, is the ever godly, and the ever godly is the ever concerned” This truth is consummated in Chief Humphrey Anumudu, who obediently surrendered his ticket, which he convincingly worn in 1999 to Achike Udenwa. This was done not with the smallest demand of selfish compensation.
To buttress equity and justice he felt, even though I worn let an Orlu man rule. This demonstration of humility to the whole of Imo people had neither been appreciated or compensatated since 1999 till date. Owerri zone has never gotten back that opportunity till date. What nature has done is that she has waited patiently to compensate Chief Humphrey Anumudu with success this time hence he has not quitted. Quitting is for weak minds and no man has ever achieved nobility by quitting. Chief Humphrey Anumudu should not allow myopic critics to dample his mind and make him grow cold about an assured success from God.
People who critise Chief Humphrey Anumudu as one who is unserious because he goes back to his business after each political episode should rather see in him a sense of responsible commitment to duty, and ability to labour rather than touts, who go on disrupting order and peace of the people because they could not achieve what they dreamt to achieve. Chief Humphrey Anumudu is a focused man, look straight into his eyes, you will see pity, concern for others, service and focused attention to people’s needs. This is the nature of Governor we need now, as the dust of the Owelle’s administration dawns.
One again will suggest that the APGA Party should seek and find the best in Anumudu Humphrey than narrow themselvesto selfish “APGAISM”, Chief Humphrey Anumudu, should be seen as an asset.
He has admirers in PDP who will definitely cast their
votes for him. He has admirers in APC who will cast their votes for him, then APGA and the masses of Imo State will eventually consummate the victory program of Humphrey Anumudu by voting for him. In His political history he has never been noted to have antagonized himself with any rival nor sold out for whatever reason. He has never taken anyone to court for political reasons, although a Barrister who saw loopholes to have litigated.
APGA should see the appearance of Chief Humphrey Anumudu as an added advantage towards their success come 2019, consider the program of God, he gave up for justice and equity sake in 1999 his victory and God called him back to compensation in 2019 who then will stop what God has decreed.
For the Imolites to understand fully the man Chief
Humphrey Anumudu, this is a man, who had silently influenced and touched the life of many Imolites, than even governments.
He has by his program “Uba Zuoa Imo” given free loans to more than thirty thousand Imolites, in these days when government fail in giving people even loans of thirty thousand naira. It is equally believed that considering maturity of mind and intellect, non presently who parade himself for the governorship of Imo State can match Chief Humphrey Anumudu, or if there, be a few. Now beholds upon the former Governors of Imo State, His Excellency Achike Udenwa who he surrendered to, in obedience to his dream of equity and justice to repay him, and His Excellency Rochas Okorocha who promised, crossing his heart in oath, to handover to an Owerri man, to see that man from Owerri zone in Chief Humphrey Anumudu. This will not only create a spiritual balance of God fearing leadership, but would have canonically compensated for the sacrifice he made, to ensure a peaceful transition of power from the military of 1999 to the civilians of 1999 in Imo State.
Chief Humphrey Anumudu’s matter is an issue of balancing nature, that ordinarily everyone should endorse. Imolites including those in other parties should seek for the best for Imo State, which can only be found in people like Anumudu. It will seem ironically to conclude this write up without mentioning it here, that Chief Humphrey Anumudu was born into the Anumudu family and his late father was one of the richest pre-Independence personalities in old Owerri.
He is unlike those other leaders who lived in one room with their parents even in the 1990s. The question is how did such poor people turn out to become the richest people in the society? The answer is simply found and ritualism crimes and associated sources of evil wealth. The leadership of such emergency turned out to be oppressors, of the people because they have already sold their souls to emptiness and passing away richest. Imo and especially APGA, this is your chance never you miss it.
