Following strong indications reaching Trumpeta Sports desk, Imo State and Capital City of Owerri may host the 2017/18 Nigeria National League NNL, Super Four tournament soon.
The super four tournament has become an annual ritual for the nations 2nd tier league exclusively for the first two placed teams of the Northern and Southern Conference to determine which club is true champion of NNL.
The state haven recently hosted the Nigeria Referee Association NRA, Annual General Meeting AGM, is reportedly suspected to be making concrete plans to also be the first state from the South East to host the NNL Super Four after Enugu State who hosted the LMC Super four last two seasons ago.
Trumpeta reliably gathered that the repair work currently on going at the Main bowl of the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri may not just be for Heartland FC’s readiness for the new season as words from the grape vine also suggests that the state government is keenly interested to test its hospitality abilities in hosting a mini tournament.
Heartland FC, Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu Kwara United of Ilorin and Go Rocundf FC of Omok, Rivers State are expected to take part in this season’s NNL Super four which was won last by ABS of Ilorin.
Meanwhile, NPFL returnees, Heartland FC of Owerri have intensified their preparations ahead of the 2017/18 NPFL season with the aim of competing favorably in the league.
The Naze Millionaires who have since moved their training sessions to their Naze camp in Owerri North are said to be keeping their signings close to their chest with the view of making them public when necessary.
