The battle for who takes control of the Local Government Areas inImoStatehas shifted from courts in Owerri to theFederalCapitalTerritoryas the Federal High Court sitting inAbujayesterday restrained the Imo state government from dissolving and interfering with the office of the elected Local government administration in the state.

When the matter came up on Wednesday on the controversial issue of the tenure of the elected Local Government Chairmen in Imo state, Justice Olotu was of the opinion that since the matter has been decided by theAppeal Courtthat the Status Quo should remain.

He maintained that the appeal court judgement on the illegal dissolution of the elected council chairmen in Imo state by the state governor is very clear even as their tenure is still under controversy.

Justice Olotu in the permanent order, ordered that the status Quo after the appeal court judgement should remain pending the determination of the subsisting matter.
