The bishop of the Pentecostal church based inCameroon, Bishop Paul James has called on Christians to avail themselves of the material acquaintances and blessings that God has given them to serve him as well as give alms to the poor and the needy in the society.
He said this at a Sunday service atLifelineAssemblyChurchwhen on the topic “SERVICE” adding that Christians should appreciate and see it as an honour when God requires their services in the House of God. The bishop therefore advised Christians to use their wealth serve and cultivate the habit of working in the House of God.
James stated that God uses some services Christians render in the House of which seems common and insignificant to bless us in a large measure, pointing out that Christians should learn to allow God use them and not depend on self-preferences.
He expressed worry that this generation has deviated from true worship in truth and in spirit. He said everyone desires God’s blessings but wondered why after God has blessed us, we don’t use it for expansion of the Kingdom and service to humanity. Bishop James called on Christians to obey and hearken to God in whatever they do as obedience is better than sacrifice.
The bishop also admonished Christians to live a righteous and holy life because we are in the end time. He enjoined Christians to amend their ways now that they are alive before the day of rapture
He regretted that even Christians who should be the light and shining examples to unbelievers now follow after worldly trends as they do whatever they like and called on Christians to repent and turn to God.
Commenting on issues of Tithing, the Bishop remarked that tithing is an instruction that God has given to Christians but stressed with displeasure that Christians have rather chosen to over look it.
In his speech, Bishop Maxwell C. Korie advised Christians to exhibit a life of service as well as maintain intimate relationship with God as according to him, it pleases God and opens door for blessings in one’s life.
