Following the attachment of solidarity he has shown to the Director of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose has been named as the honorary Governor of Biafra Republic.

This was contained in a statement IPOB released online where the body thanked Fayose for show of concern towards Nnamdi Kanu.

According to the statement signed by the media and publicity secretary of the group, Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB said “we also acknowledge the immense contributions of the honourary Biafra Gov Ayodele Fayose who did what no South East or South South Governor had the courage to do”.

The IPOB went further to commend the former Aviation Ministers, Osita Chidoka and Femi Fani- Kayode, Professors Chukwuma Soludo and Pat Utom, Senators Ike Ekwueremadu and Enyinnaya Abaribe and others for their support.

In the release, the name of Governor Rochas Okorocha was not mentioned alongside others like former Governor of Abia State, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu who had at one time also showed solidarity with the IPOB Director.

It would be recalled that on the day of the court where Nnamdi Kanu was granted bail, Fayose came to identify with him as well as Fani- Kayode, whereas no Governor from South East showed presence.
