Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has expressed rude shock and sadness the news of the murder of Inspector Mohammed Useni at his residence while on duty.
Reacting to a rather curious angle a national daily reported the sad incident which alleged “that the assailants removed some of the victim’s body parts including hands and other sensitive parts and went away with them” in a statement made available to Trumpeta noted that “It is wicked and most regrettable that the life of the policeman who was performing his duty would be taken in such a gruesome manner but it is important to note that none of his body parts were removed contrary to the report by the newspaper. The body of the late police was not mutilated.
“It would not be wrong to say that the reporters of the story obviously may be acting a script and as such might be of great assistance to the police in their ongoing investigation of the incident”
Chief Ihedioha therefore tasked the Nigeria Police and other relevant agencies not to relent in their effort to investigate the killing with a view to finding the assailants and bring them to justice.
The former Deputy Speaker, of the House of Representatives, who also is the Imo State Peoples Democratic Party Governorship Candidate in the 2015 general elections, according to his media aide, is currently resigned to private life while awaiting the outcome of his petition at the Elections Petitions Tribunal having completed his national assignment meritoriously.
Meanwhile, the murdered Police Inspector, Mohammed Useni attached to the Asokoro, Abuja residence of the immediate past House of Representatives Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha, hailed from Jigawa State was strangled to death at his duty post at the residence on Monday and his rifle, an AK47, taken away by the people who killed him.
The death of the security officer which came a few days after the withdrawal of the officers of the Department of State Services attached to Ihedioha, has thrown residents of the area into fear and confusion. Ihedioha was reportedly away during the inspector’s murder.
