Govt Drags Chinese Investors To Imo For Industry Programme

The dream of Governor Rochas Okorocha to establish multiple industries in Imo was on the verge of realization.
Trumpeta observed that over 20 investors from China visited the state to formalize arrangements to establish Industries in the state.
The team led by Consul General of the Peoples Republic of China, His Excellency, Liu Kan disclosed that Imo State is the best place to site their multiple Industries because of good governance and security. He stated that Imo is one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria that is yet to record any major violence, adding that in a few months’ time, most of the industries and factories in China will be replicated in Imo State.
The group after the meeting with the governor and stakeholders proceeded to the House of Assembly to discuss further with the lawmakers. During their discussion, it was agreed that the trade relationship should be extended to the various communities of the state.
The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Acho Ihim, who played host to the investors, said he is happy to see them physically. He demanded that the consul general should provide visa for all the lawmakers on a trade mission.
During the interview session with the press, the Speaker promised that the lawmakers will surely assist in the provision of enabling ground for a smooth take off of the industries. He said their major concentration will be on agricultural development, particularly on the processing of cassava and cashew nuts.
“We want you to help transform our economy and make it more stable.” The Speaker said.
Royal fathers who spoke to our reporter said they are set to receive the investors in their communities.
