The heavy loss the All Progressive Ground Alliance, APGA, governorship candidate in Imo State, Capt Emma Ihenacho suffered in the just concluded election is taking a tool on his co-travellers in the Captain Ihenacho Campaign Organisation (CICO).
In the last count, Trumpeta learnt that Ihenacho embarked on serious drive to recover a good member of the vehicles he doled out to party members and campaign coordinators in the state.
It would be recalled that despite pre-election postures, the former minister came a distant third with about 26,000 votes and no LGA to boast of including his Owerri North LGA.
However, intra-party feud crept in moments after the election ended and altercation was witnessed between Capt Ihenacho and state APGA chairman Peter Ezeobi, a lawyer. The new turn of events further touched the guber candidate’s foot-soldiers who are losing their campaign vehicles branded with CICO designs.
It was learnt that one of the former minister’s kinsman took the task to move against the campaign coordinators and succeeded in recovering the vehicles except that of the DG, and youth leader, who are yet to submit their vehicles.
When contacted, the media aide to CICO, Barr Emperor Iwuala said the allegation is false and that such thing never happened.
He claimed that those who are harbouring such notion are malicious and only want to smear the name of an innocent man.
According to Barr Iwuala, the vehicles are APGA property and not Capt Ihenacho’s property. “So Capt Ihenacho will not descend so low to impound party vehicles”, Barr Iwuala stated.
Barr Iwuala further revealed that the campaign organization of Capt Ihenacho has been converted to a foundation positioned to serve the indigent Imolites and that some of the campaign vehicles services have equally been converted for the foundations activities adding that the vehicle under his care is still with him as he also carries out the duties of the foundation.
