Anyanwu is said to be leading in the three LGAs of Mbaise, Owerri North, Owerri Municipal, Mbaise and his Ikeduru LGA ahead of closest rival Uche Onyeagocha of APC. Same applies to Achonu who is also reported to be creating waves.
Achonu known as one Arm General who has majority of the votes more than that of clement Owunna of APGA and Imo Speaker Ben Uwajumogu of APC.
While Uwajumogu and Owunna are said to have pocketed his Ihitte Uboma, Okigwe leaving Achonu secured place.
But Achoni according to reports won in the two populous LGAs of Isiala Mbano, Ehime and Onuimo LGAs placing him on top.
Two federal legislators from Imo State are set to return to the Green Chambers of the National Assembly as it is celebration galore in their places following the victory secured in Saturday’s election. The two lawmakers are Ezenwa Onyewuchi and Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe, both of the PDP representing Owerri Federal Constituency and Ahiazu/Ezinihitte respectively.
Joining them in the success trip is the Speaker Emeritus of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Goodluck Nanah Opiah who is billed to represent Ohaji/Egbema, and Oru West Federal Constituency.
While Igbokwe came tops against main challenger, Adaku Ihuoma the majority leader of the Imo State House of Assembly of the APC, Ezenwa was steps ahead of APGA candidate, Dan Ikpeazu. For Opiah, the former Speaker used a wide margin to dismiss opposition posed by APC’s Donatus Ozoemene, the Deputy Speaker of the House.
Though figures of the results have not been made public but the winners used comfortable margins to bag tickets to Abuja.
