It is of note that numbers of secular artistes in the state outweighs the number of gospel acts in the music industry which brought the gospel singing sensation Emeka Chukwuezi Stephen known as Emmy-C to Trumpeta Extravaganza to air his view on the issue of less gospel acts and the need for Churches to play vital role in securing a better future there career.
According to the young talented artiste whose popularity in on the rise, Mr. Emeka Chukwuezi Stephen popularly known as Emmy-C revealed that his growing popularity in the south-east enabled over thirty thousand 30,000 downloads of his songs and over 5,000 friends on facebook stating that his video shoot are in progress.
He maintained that the industry today, artistes of other genres (Dance Hall, Hip Hop, Rn’B, Blues, etc) are doing well through encouragements from individuals/fans, cooperate organizations (endorsements) and the government.
“in our present society one rarely listens to gospel music as often as the secular genres on radio and television, except for Sundays and other festivity marking the Christian calendar, the church should rise up to the task of protecting gospel singers/talents so as not to be influenced by the largesse enjoyed by their colleagues through other genres” he said.
“Through gospel concerts, crusade, invitation for special Church functions and youth/family activities e.t.c, Churches can give maximum value to gospel acts which will in turn be a source of inspiration with positive impact onto youths and the society both within and outside the church” he added.
Emmy-C further said that music today plays a vital role in the society, the youth, and in the upbringing of a child as he encourage parents and guidance to give valid attention to their wards most especially during this electioneering period.
