Imo Water Corporations Adopts Motion To Suspend GM, Nwaoga As The Corporation Plans Move To Permanent Site

A meeting presided by the newly appointed board members of the Imo State water corporation Chaired by Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Aririrguzo, have moved the motion for the immediate suspension of the general manager of the Imo State Water Corporation, Dr. Kachi Nwaoga and the acting secretary on issues concerning unwarranted infractions into the corporation’s land, pollution of water sites at Ota Mirii through illegal sand dredging and failure to communicate the board on issues bothering the corporation.
Chairman of the board, Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Aririrguzo, stated this yesterday at the hall of Imo Power and Water Company Limited, along Porthacourt road Owerri in Imo State, she said that series of letters were sent to the GM for an emergency meeting to be held, a meeting which she said was informed based on the fact findings on the facilities carried out by the board members and the reaction of the Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to the board’s proposal for water restoration in Imo State, she said monies doled out to the corporation by the governor, before their inauguration was not well utilized which prompt the board to demand that the GM invites the various concerned heads of department to have an interface with the board concerning their departments, water supply in the State and issues arising from the site tour/water facility inspection, but according to her, Dr. Kachi Nwaoga failed to adhered.
She revealed that the board had to evoke the ethics of the corporation on Dr. Kachi Nwaoga, noting the a query letter issued to him earlier to account for the disappearance of the chemicals used by the corporation (alum), the missing pipes worth millions of Naira, the acclaimed forged letter he levied on the corporation’s board Chairman, and flaunting orders to convey an emergency meeting, and the failed reply by Dr. Kachi Nwaoga and his acting secretary after 72 hours made the move for his suspension necessary.
She added that due to the water problems face by Imolites the board has the powers to seat and seek for a lasting solution for the state.
She said that staffers of the Corporation will continue to face untold hardship to until the right thing is done noting that the board members and staffers of the corporation must ensure that water runs in Imo state before the end of the Rescue Mission’s Administration of Owelle Okorocha.
She pointed out that the corporation have diverse means of allocating revenues to fund few of its projects stressing that the GM of the corporation is not toeing to the Rescue Mission Agenda of the Governor as she and the board members reiterate their commitment to work against the fall of Imo state water corporation.
Speaking Hon Ikenna George noted that the GM of Imo State Water Corporation is an anti-Rescue Mission agent who has created a lot of abnormalities in the board and moved the motion for the acting GM Dr Kachi Nwaoga to step aside.
Supporting the motion, Hon Andy Anyadike added that Dr Kachi Nwaoga based on the Irregularities and Irrecountable issues affecting the growth of Imo state water corporation in providing accessible clean and portable water in Imo state that can not be account for or give answers to should be stepped aside.

Meanwhile Hon Barr Nwgozi passed the motion to relocate workers to their permanent site in Ota Miiri, a move she said will benefit the corporation and less Expenditure of rent and also checkmate the reckless abandon of facilities at Ota Miri, she noted that the changed name of Imo state Water Corporation to Imo state power and water company do not represent the interest of the corporation.
