The leadership of Owerri Peoples Front, OPF led by Hon Ebere Chukwuemeka has uncovered plans by some persons to destabilize the group.
The plots is allegedly being hatched and perfected by some political forces within and outside Owerri Zone who are using some renaged members of the group to cause disaffection within the OPF.
“A statement from the leadership of OPF and made available to Trumpeta said that the plot was intensified shortly after the OPF conducted an opinion poll where the people of Owerri Zone freely voted for their choice governorship aspirants of Owerri Zone extraction.
At the end ol the exercise which was conducted in an open and transparent manner, four governorship aspirants emerged having scored the highest number of votes. The results of the exercise were published in some local tabloids in the State.
After the publication, the leadership of OPF noticed that some aspirants who were not favoured with the outcome of the OPF opinion poll have resorted to sponsoring some persons to cause disaffection, disharmony within the OPF.
These politicians have vowed to go extra length to dismember the group and at the same time weaken the resolve of OPF to actualize the collective aspiration of the good people of Owerri zone to produce the next governor of Imo State in 2015”.
Honourable Ebere maintained that, “it important to state that OPF will not be intimidated or cowed by the desperate attempts of these forces as we will continue to grow from strength to strength”.
OPF therefore called on the people of Owerri zone and Imo State in general to disregard cheap blackmail heaped on the OPF as it is the handiwork of unprogressive persons who do not wish the group and the people of Owerri zone any good.
