The Eze Elect of Isi-Ihitte Owerri community in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State, Chief Dr. Damian Emeka Obianigwe has hinted that he would govern the people of the community with consistent dedication and fear of God.
He stated this on Friday August 8, 2014, during his official presentation to the Transition Committee chairman of Orlu LGA, Hon Eddy Olumba, at Mayor Eze Hall, Orlu LGA headquarters.
The Eze Elect pointed out that he would better the community, by showing exemplary leadership adding that he never lobbed for the position.
He promised to do all within his prowess to make life meaningful for the people of the community and advised them to desist from incriminating acts.
Also speaking, the general secretary cum palace secretary of the community, Chief Edwin Njemnobi, informed that the Eze-Elect, Chief Obianigwe is a Lagos based successful business man and a caring philanthropist, who contributed over 90% of the cost of building St Martins Catholic Church Parish, Ihitte Owerre, adding that he also built the customary court in the are and donated houses to the widows and the needy in his locality.
He averred that the Eze Elect, who was the President/Sec. General of community Government Council (CGC) in Orlu LGA, has sponsored scholarship of many indigent students and the yearly new yam festival of his people, adding that he was bestowed “Ambassador” by the United State of America (USA) for his philanthropic appreciation. “Even the Oba of Lagos conferred a chieftaincy title on him for buying and donating dozens of keke to some Okada operators, when the Lagos state government banned the commercial motor-cyclists from operating”, he added.
In his speech, the Public Relation Officer of Orlu LGA, Mr Livinus Mbidoka noted that the Eze-Elect also sponsored Orlu local government in hosting the last year August meeting that made it came first among other LGAs in the state.
Receiving the documentary on the Eze-Elect, the TC chairman, Hon Olumba pointed out that Chief Obianigwe has an outstanding integrity, which has distinguished him among his acolytes, adding that he would forward it to Imo State government, while pledging to witness the staff of Ezeship which would be presented to the Eze-Elect in due course.
