The popularly adage which says “A good road calls for second journey” seems to have taken precedence in Njaba local government area, Imo state.
Justifying this expression over the weekend at Njaba, the party leaders of All Progressive Congress (APC), and the Traditional Rulers of the Area showered accolades on the former TC chairman of Njaba, and SA, SSA to Governor Udenwa and Ohakim respectively on political matters, Hon Chief Samjack Okoro for his past developmental and giant strides scattered in all the nook and crannies of Njaba LGA, touching lives positively, not minding the political affiliation.
Speaking on behalf of the party members in Njaba, the APC chairman, Hon Chris Njepuome enumerated the numerous achievements of Chief Samjack Okoro whom he addressed as a worthy son of the land with high pedigree and intimidating track records, stressing that his antecedents speaks more of him with the economic, human and infrastructural developments he effected in the past years of government appointee. He submitted that what Samjack is vying for come 2015 elections is sensitive which requires a grounded fellow, who has been in government and with much experience to move the constituency forward. Hon Njepuome further reiterated that as the former TC chairman, he brought absolute serenity in the area and to the indigenes through his constant grasroot awareness activities, coupled with employment, to empowerment programmes. However, the party chairman advised him never to be deterred in the race, urging him to make his grassroot sensitization according to the directives of Governor Okorocha whose vision for APC aspirants is total victory geared towards grassroot recognition and supports. He added that the aim of forming APC as a state party must be achieved on concrete ground urging other aspirants to play their politics with transparency and devoid of rancor.
Meanwhile, the monarchs of Njaba LGA while listening to the political ambition of Samjack Okoro at the palace of HRH Eze Uchenna Nwaka, Igwe 1 were Umunam Atta in attendance of the chairman of Njaba council were Traditional Rulers, HRH Eze Vincent Duru of Okponakuma, HRH Eze C.U Azuike of Atta, HRH Eze Ken Uzoho, HRH Eze Onyeka among other recognized monarchs at the palace extolled the leadership qualities of the aspirant, Samjack by going down memory lane and representation in government in the past administrations of Udenwa and Ohakim respectively, stressing that the position of traditional rulers in politics does not mandate them from engaging into untimely politics, adding that not withstanding the restrictions, they will not cease from exhibiting the royal duties abound to their stool which is supporting, advising and showering blessings on any illustrious sons of the area, just as Chief Samjack Okoro has unarguabley distinguished himself as a tested and trusted politician who is always ready to bring down development to his people at a slightest opportunity given to him.
Speaking further, the monarchs pin-pointed that APC is a party for all with a pragmatic leader in the state which Governor Okorocha is ready to move the state forward through APC. They observed that Chief Samjack Okoro is a great contender for the Assembly seat with their full supports guaranteed.
However, they cemented their supports with Royal blessings for the successful election.
In a related development, the youth leaders, women leaders, President Generals (secretaries), CLOs of Njaba Community Government Council (CGC) on Sunday stormed the residence of Chief Samjack Okoro , Umunam Atta to re-assure him of their undivided supports in ensuring that he emerges their 2015 House of Assembly Representative. In their unanimous speeches, Chief Goddy Amadike chairman of Njaba PGs, Comrade Akuta Ezenwa youth leader, Hon John Amaechi CLO, Mrs Ifeoma Ayanugwo submitted that the constituency is in dire need of qualitative, transparent and visionary representative who is ready to bring total restoration to the people following the unproductive years of their past representatives. However, they showered encomium on the aspirant for his past achievements urging other Assembly Aspirants form the area to throw their hats in another hole as the position is a no go area for another person if not samjack who has been generally adopted.
Responding, Chief Samjack Okoro expressed his profound gratitude to them for the trust and love showered on him, reiterating that their supports and confidence on him would spur him to do more if elected into the legislative House of Assembly 2015.
Akuzuoha stated some of his policy thrust saying that he will work in tandem with Governor Okorocha to bring dividends of democracy to the grassroots of Njaba through APC family. He averred that more empowerment programmes, scholarship packages, road construction among others will be effected which they have not experienced in the past years. He confidently assured to transform the constituency to the best of his ability with his God given managerial talents and wealth of experience to the envy of other constituencies in the state. Meanwhile, he advised them never to be deceived by kid politicians seeking cheap popularity, but should vote wisely according to their conscience.
