A prominent politician in Imo state and one of those who have declared intention to run for the 2015 governorship election, Chief Charles Onyeagbako has declared that he is a serious contender for the number one position in the state.

Onyeagboka who used the opportunity to reveal his background, life and times till date noted that he has no liability to be an outcast among those seeking to govern Imo in 2015.
The former council chairman of Owerri North during the Achike Udenwa era said that he is not in the governorship race to negotiate with anybody adding that he stands tall among other aspirants to be considered worthy for the job. Onyeagbako’s reaction was based on question posed at him by newsmen who accused him of possibly coming out for something or being used as a political tool by former Governor and supposed political leader, Chief Achike Udenwa. Said he “At my age and level, there are certain things that can be attributed to me and not that I am being used or a front for somebody. I am qualified and has what it takes mentally and otherwise to take charge of Imo. My records speak for me.
“I have good relationship with the former governor but it has nothing to do with my ambition. I remain myself and hopeful of getting my dreams come true in 2015”.
Onyeagbako who is hopeful of a corrupt-free primaries to elect the PDP flag bearer expressed optimism that he will take Imo to great heights if handed the mandate to be at the helm of affairs.
The Okwu-Urratta-born politician said that he will go beyond providing basic democracy dividends like road construction and other amenities to showcase his sterling leadership qualities as a servant leader always willing to serve his people.
On his movements to APGA and defunct ACN in the past as well as working against the interest of the party he has intention to fly its flag in 2011, Onyeagboka noted that he should not be blamed during that period as he did the job of a true party man backing the interest of his party. “As a true party man I did the bidding of my party at that moment because of the prevalent condition. I feel the PDP has learnt its lesson from the bad experiences.
