Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Obazu Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA of Imo state was electrifying last Sunday when Barr. Humphrey Anumudu dedicated his Governorship ambition to the Almighty God after declaring to join Imo guber race come 2015 in his political ward.
Barrister Anumudu as a household name in Imo state political terrain and he had contested to become the number one citizen of Imo state under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ranging from 1999 till the last general elections.
The vision of the professional legal luminary to Imolites have not seen “light of the day” due to political circumstances that remain the trade mark of Nigera political system.
Addressing the congregation, Barr. Anumudu noted that the Almighty God remains the director general of his project adding that with God, his aspiration will be realized and promised to support the church in erecting its projects.
In a reception held at his compound located at Obilubi, Mbieri where his supporters drawn from 27 local areas of the state were in attendance, Barr. Anumudu recounted his political antecedents ranging from 1999 till date adding that he has made valuable input to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
“I am the centre of the foundation of PDP in Imo state. I donated a cash of one million naira for the party office rent located at Okigwe road in 1999”, he maintained.
He urged Okigwe and Orlu zones to support him as he will win PDP primaries when conducted.
The Governorship hopeful disclosed that he will inaugurate his political coordinators within the 27 council areas of the state on 31st May, 2014 while ward coordinators will be inaugurated two weeks after.
In an interaction with Journalists, Barr. Anumudu averred that he is ready to form a formidable team that would bring all the necessary facts needed by the Imolites to every locality.
He also promised to make available to media organization in the state with one hundred million naira interest free loan to boost their operations adding that the loan will be shared among media houses and would return at least 5 percent of a stipulated cash give to each media house in 5 years time.
Meanwhile Barrister Anumudu had on Saturday May 24th visited his Ezinihitte ward where he formally declared his ambition to run for the 2015 Governorship election under the PDP.
Accompanied by friends and well wishers, Anumudu said that his visit marks his official declaration for the Governorship race. He said that since charity begins at home, that he has come for their blessing and good wishes.,
On hand to receive Barrister Anumudu was his ward Chairman Hon Chinedu Ekwebelem and his executive including party chieftains from the ward.
The climax of the ceremony was the blessing of Anumudu by washing of his legs supervised by Nze Bob Domike and other leaders of the party present as well as the acceptance of Dr Edmund Ugorji and his supporters from APC to the PDP.
