NEK United Striker, AjokuChidebere Joins Prime FC
Owerri- West born diminutive but hard fighting striker Chidiebere Ajoku who last played for his LGA team in the Samuel Mary & Dame-Emily Obiyo YSFON organized Football Competition and the ongoing CGC Cup has joined a Nigerian National League (NNL) side Prime FC of Osogbo for the rest of the season.
The move is seen as a dream come true for the Umualum-Nekede prodigy which was announced recently by the Osogbo based side as part of their mid-season transfer deals to sure up the team for their promotion chase back to the elite division.
Chidiebere who is popularly known as ‘Iwuanyanwu’ by his colleagues is one of the 10 new players brought in to help improve their position on NNL Group B log.
It would be recalled that Chidiebere who can also play from the midfield had a brief romance with Ocean Boys of Yenegoa before he returned back to NEK United FC were he helped them gain promotion from the National Amateur 2 to Amateur 1 before making the move to Prime.
Reacting to the development, Nek United proprietor Mr. Ikechukwu confirmed the story of the transfer adding that he is now with Prime FC and has since been given the number 17 jersey for the rest of the season.
YSFON Dissolves LGA Executives

The State Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria YSFON has dissolved its Local Government Area Executive Officers with immediate effect.
Information reaching Trumpeta sports desk revealed that the LGA executive officers who were inaugurated sometime last year by the State Chairman Mr Sunny Opara from hence forth will cease to function as YSFON officers in Imo State while plans are under way to recruit vibrant and dedicated persons that will effectively and efficiently discharge the activities of the Federation at the local levels.
According to Mr Sunny an ex-international who also doubles as YSFON National Vice President, South-East, “the move is to ensure that youth and sports oriented persons are brought into the fold towards promoting the development of Nigerian youths and sports in a positive manner.
Continuing, the onetime Orlando Pirates striker who also stared for Eagle Cement (Dolphins) noted that YSFON in Imo has been positioned to partner with individuals and co-operate bodies in other to give our youths and sports generally the desired growth adding that presently YSFON is cued into the Rescue Mission Programs of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who has performed wonders within 3yrs in office by restoring hope to the poor masses with all the developmental strides scattered all over the State.
He however thanked the erstwhile LG officers for their efforts and co-operation during the period they served the federation wishing them well in their next endeavors.
Meanwhile, all the South-East YSFON State chairmen are expected to storm Enugu State capital for their quarterly meeting on Saturday May 31 to discuss and deliberate on how to move our youths and sports forward in the zone among many other issues as the Imo chapter will also this month come out with its yearly newspaper publication showcasing the achievements and activities of YSFON.

Taraba Fc to Victory over Heartland

FC Taraba technical adviser, NdubuisiNduka is a satisfied man after his wards defeated his former side, Heartland Fc of Owerri last Sunday in Jalingo.
The newcomers piped two-time Federation Cup winners 1-0 in the week 15Glo Premier League encounters at the Jolly Nyame Stadium in Jalingo.
Former Heartland forward, TochukwuEsom punished the Owerri-based side with his superb 65th minute strike to cement three points for FC Taraba.
Nduka said his charges’ doggedness and strict adherence to instructions immensely helped his side to overpower hard fighting Heartland.
“This is another solid three points secured against my former side, Heartland and an improvement on our position on the log.
“Of course, I’m excited, I can’t just choose the right words to express how I feel. I’m simply overwhelmed.
“It was a hard game; Heartland played very well, showed their characteristic stuff as a strong side and could’ve earned for themselves good goals except for missed chances in the first half. We had ours and made a kill out of it so we’re the better side.
“It was generally a good game and the officiating officials allowed both sides amply opportunities to express themselves.
“I praise my players for their doggedness and tactical discipline as we hope to take the winning aura to the next matches,” said the former Plateau United coach.
The Jalingo-based side will be the guests of newcomers, Crown FC in Wednesday’s match day 16 encounter at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
FC Taraba have upped their points haul to 22 from a possible 45 in the 15-week old Nigerian elite league while Heartland will be host to Akwa United on Wednesday at the Dan
