Imo State Traffic Management Authority (ISTMA) boss, Hon Don Onwukaike has alleged that the state government is after his life.
In a chat with Trumpeta Newspaper yesterday, Chief Onwukaike accused some government officials in Imo of plotting to eliminate him because of the rumour going round that he has joined peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The ISTMA boss explained that he can not join PDP through the back door, adding that for now he is still hundred percent with All Progressive Congress (APC)
He raised alarm on invasion of ISTMA office by Imo Civil Guard led by their boss Donatus Ejifugha.
According to him, the Guards entered ISTMA office along Okigwe road without warrant or authorization and carted away vital documents and properties worth millions of naira. In his words “I was not informed before they broke into my office.
“All the properties inside that place are mine and I have spent over one million naira to run the activities of ISTMA without Governor Okorocha refunding me any kobo or giving me any reward”. Onwukaike said,
Speaking further, he vowed not to allow Imo Government to take away his sweat and investments.
“This is an infringement, impunity and criminal offence”.
Joining PDP is it crime?” He questioned
Onwukaike insisted that he must seek legal redress on the matter and make sure that Governor Okorocha’s social injustice is uncovered.
Don Onwukaike who said he is no longer safe in Imo expressed disappointment on the kind of intimidation, harassment and black mail people receive from Okorocha’s men, adding that if such a thing can happen to somebody like him what about others.
He however declared that the ICG boss who is now an attack dog of the government may have acted on his own initiative.
“I doubt if Okorocha my brother can act this way to me” he submitted.
When contacted, the director of Imo Civil Guards, Hon Donatus Ejifugha said the embattled ISTMA boss has no respect to constituted authority “He dared the Governor and refused to come and open the premises as was directed”.
Ejeifugha who took Trumpeta reporter round the ISTMA premises explained that the officials entered the place to use it as a temporary office since their former office at Orlu road has been taken over by the judiciary.
He maintained that no property was removed from ISTMA office. ISTMA officials as we learnt have been on suspension for many months now.
