Salami Ends Heartland’s Run, As
Team Gets Set For Abia Warriors Tie
Gbolahan Salami scored the only goal of the game to help Warri Wolves secure a 1-0 win and bring Heartland’s eight game unbeaten run to an end.
Visiting Heartland came into the game with the intent on continuing their unbeaten run, as coach Kelechi Emetole assembled a tight five-man defence to stop the rampaging Wolves attackers.
Heartland showed tactical composure as they dominated the opening exchanges, and were only prevented from taking a first half lead by Azubuike Egwuekwe’s timely block.
After a goalless first half in which it seemed Emetole’s wards were sticking to the scripts, the hosts gradually turned the tide and it didn’t take long for the goal to come through none other than Salami, who latched onto one of the few clear chances to fire past Ebele Obi who manned the post for the Naze Milionaires.
The goal which was Salami’s sixth this season puts him atop the goal scorers chart.

Heartland FC:Ebele Obi, Kingsley Ajaero, ZoumanaDoumbia, Julius Ubido, Orji KaluOkagbue, Nelson Ogbonnaya, EmekaOgbugh, Bright Dike, Saibou Badarou, Roland Koffi, Jolly Osas
