Another earth-shaking, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, rally is in the offing in Owerri where fresh decampees mainly from the All Progressive Congress, APC, are expected to join the party.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances and changes in programme, the Vice President, Namadi Sambo will be hitting Imo state to receive the new decampees from APC.
Though the official date for the event has not been finally adopted but a tentative date from the party headquarters in Abuja said the event will hold before the end of the month.
Sambo’s visit to Imo Trumpeta learnt is to receive an APC guber aspirant, Dr Charles Onuoha, his numerous supporters and allies from APC. Also joining Onuoha who was a former commissioner in Okorocha cabinet and until recently, chairman of Imo Housing Corporation are some former Sole Administrators of local government in Okorocha regime.
The Vice-President according to party sources in Abuja will be in Imo with other leaders of the party for the exercise.
Trumpeta gathered that the coming of the Vice President was necessitated by a reported waiver to be granted Onuoha and co-decampees to enjoy rights and privileges due to a PDP member. It was also learnt in good authority that other major stakeholders in the party in the state PDP is also backing Onuoha’s dreams should he join the party.
Speaking to Journalists in Owerri on the issue, Dr Onuoha said his joining PDP is not by accident rather by divine arrangement and to realize his ambition.
Information also disclosed that Prince Onuoha and his fellow decampees have been meeting with PDP officials in the state to finalize the arrangement of the Vice President’s visit to Imo.
The Director General of Team Prince Charles campaign group in a special interview with Trumpeta in his office at Wetheral road Owerri said that the declaration and acceptance in PDP will apolitical earthquake to APC and Okorocha. “This will be the mother of all declarations in Imo” he said.
