Igbo Awareness For Development Initiative Takes Campaign To Imo

One of the foremost apolitical organizations advancing the course of known as interest Igbo Awareness for Development Initiative has taken its campaign to Imo state.
The group which comprise Igbo activists gathered a team of Igbo Professionals and other well meaning Igbos to form a formidable intellectual think tank for Ndi Igbo to re-awaken Igbo consciousness, reposition Ndi Igbo in the scheme of things in Nigeria.
The group declared it readiness to raise a new form of leadership for Ndi Igbo and work for sensible Igbo republicanism.
Speakers who addressed the gathering at Kelvic Suites, Owerri where the event took place on Sunday, lauded the group for its pursuance of fairness, equality and justice for Ndi Igbo both in Igboland and the wider Nigeria at large.
According to the first speaker Larry Iloh, the group amongst other patriotic Igbos will pursue and promote economic empowerment and capacity building initiatives for members and Ndigbo in general both locally and internationally by creating awareness of opportunities in the areas of education, health, business, sports, culture, science and technology as well as assist in the provision and development of infrastructure in Igboland.
The group revealed that it is currently protesting against unfulfilled campaign promises upon which the South East voted in 2011 stating that till date erosion is continually and persistently ravaging Igboland while bad roads remain one of the greatest threats to the locality.
Meanwhile, the group was on this strength staging vigorous campaigning for good leadership and campaign against bad leadership for Ndigbo at home and the wider Nigerian polity.
Present at the event anchored by Mitt Okorie were Barr Chijioke Emenala, the Offline Coordinator of the group including Prof Mark Odu.
