Reports reaching Trumpeta has revealed that in a matter of weeks, an Owerri Zone Political Summit, organized by Owerri Peoples Front, OPF in conjunction with Owerri Peoples’ Assembly, OPA will take place.
Disclosing this to journalists, in Owerri yesterday, the National Co-ordinator of OPF, Hon Chukwuemeka Ebere, said that the summit will see in attendance all progressive political heavy weight in the zone (Owerri) to chat a course for the welfare, economic and political development of the zone ahead of 2015 election. Another pertinent issue that will form the discussion at the summit will be the collective resolution of the zone to win the Imo State Guber seat in 2015 and take over the Douglas House, in order to address the man made marginalization of Ndi Owerri zone “Just like Ojukwu believed in Aburi Accord, OPF believes in the Imo charter of Equity” he said.
Hon Ebere averred that the summit will offer stakeholders in the zone an opportunity of being the same page and speak with one voice which is the main key to realizing the Owerri zone for governor 2015 project that is being championed by so many pressure groups. He believed that the first step towards the realization of the goal is unity, togetherness our target needs collective efforts as no one man or group can do it alone Hon Ebere submitted.
He said that OPF is partnering OPA under the leadership of Chief EC Iwuanyanwu because of the confidence they have in the vision, mission and leadership qualities of the group, which has been proven to be people oriented and credible.
The youthful leader also disclosed that some people have been contracted to destabilize OPF which they have started through blackmail and propaganda. He however urged the general public to disregard them as OPF is so focused to be distracted.
