Still On “Acceptance factor” For Next Imo Governor

KC March 27, 2014
I n line with my promise to asses other governorship aspirants eyeing Douglas House for 2015, my attention was attracted to a legal luminary, Sir Ken Njemanze, (KSJI), who political watchers suggest is eminently qualified to be at the helm of affairs of the state.
Njemanze is not a political neophyte since his name has not been ringing bell like others in the political landscape of the state. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN, cut his teeth in partisan politics when he became the president of Owerri branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, (NBA). His rich pedigree was enriched with appointment into the Imo State executive council as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice during the Ikedi Ohakim era where he held the position for uninterrupted four years.
The belief in several quarters is that the career legal professional with deep roots in the internal politics and desires of Imo people having lived in Owerri state capital, can be accepted to hold the number one position in the state. The Amawom-Owerre Nchi Ise born lawyer cum politician with unassuming personality has track record of excellence devoid of backlash.
Unlike some guber aspirants with unsavoury and suspicious characters, Njemanze can pass the almighty acceptability” test to win the support of the public. As a member of the royal Njemaze family the Unilag graduate and, secretary of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council of the Archdiocese of Owerri for six years and a KSJI member is happily married with children.
