Chief Jerry Chukwueke, the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP’s Mobilization Committee in Imo State, has extended a hand of help to bell out Governor Rochas Okorocha from his present quagmire, as according to him, the Governor of Imo has finally admitted he has failed by acknowledging in Oguta LGA last week that poverty is ravaging the state.
Speaking to Journalists in his House at Awaka, Owerri North LGA, the Governorship aspirant for the 2015 Imo election said that since Okorocha accuses him of always criticizing his administration, he has this time decided to give him a helping hand by proffering ideas and solutions to him, free of charge, on how to move Imo forward, even as the time is running out on Okorocha. Chukwueke explained that he is happy that in the end, Okorocha has admitted what he had always been telling him that his administration is sharing poverty to Imo populace, instead of wealth.
The Business mogul cum politician maintained that although Okorocha has barely 10 months to remain in office, the Governor can leave some marks if he borrows his ideas on how he can create wealth for the people than sharing poverty. Chukwueke said that there is no more free funds to share, as Okorocha has frittered away all that was left in Imo by previous administrations, and should therefore change his policy by being a Baker of Bread than eater.
He asked Okorocha to look towards Agriculture by developing that sector, which will attract huge investments and create jobs for the teeming unemployed graduates in the state, than sharing stipends to pupils in primary schools, adding that today Kebi state depends on agriculture to power its economy.
Chukwueke disclosed that Okorocha can make fortunes for Imo economy by developing the Tourism business in the state through conversion of Concorde Hotel, and Oguta Model to training Centres for man power development for the hospitality Industries in Imo state, instead of foreigners and other people from outside coming to the state to man the various Hotels in the state.
He advised Okorocha to stop excavating more grounds, but should finish the roads he started, by putting them onto god standards before his time runs-off, than creating more problems.
Chukwueke made it clear that Federal allocation from Abuja has dwindled by 40% and therefore the state needs a man who can create wealths, manage scare resources, attack the poverty in the state and not to share, as there is nothing left any more to be shared.
“Politics is my vocation. I think of what I can do for our people, not what our people will do for me. I am coming to create wealth, not the share. I am trained on how to manage scarce resources, and not to fritter away. Okorocha needs our help now, before things go out of hands” Chukwueke said.
