Jonathan, Okorocha In Fresh Discussion As Imo Governor Plans PDP Return, Makes Case for Amaechi State PDP Reacts, Vows to Resist Plot to Accept Him Back

GOVERNOR

Indecision and confusion seem to have taken over the camp of Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha as he toys with the idea of staging a return to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for the realization of his second term ambition in office come 2015 general elections.
Impeccable sources told Trumpeta reporter in Abuja that Okorocha had a closed-door meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan immediately after the inauguration of the National Conference Delegates in Abuja, an occasion which Imo state Governor was conspicuously present from the beginning till the end.
Trumpeta learnt that in the secret meeting, Imo state Governor was said to have pleaded to the president that he should be allowed to join the PDP, and promised to convince the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi to return to the PDP with him.
However, the President, it was learnt, was jolted with that statement and therefore could not buy Okorchas dangled cannot before him which he saw as a bet, not knowing that Jonathan would not be keen on Amaechi issue, which seems like a concluded matter in the Presidency.
Trumpeta learnt that Okorocha decided to stage a return to PDP after his strategists discovered that APC may be a hard sale in 2015 in the South East and after it was said Okorocha fell out with the APC hierarchy when his plan to run for the vice Presidential slot was thwarted by APC which resolved to zone the position to the Western part of the country, with the presidency going to the North, while South East gets the national Chairmanship slot of APC.
Even though it was said that the presidency was ready to accept any thing that can facilitate Jonathan’s return in 2015, b Imo PDP stalwarts, especially the governorship Aspirants, have vowed to resist any attempt by Okorcoha to return to the party which he denied power through APGA in 2011.
Trumpeat learnt that there is a serious gang up by the PDP hierarchy to resist any attempt to foist Okorocha on them, as they have threatened to decamp from the party enmass, leaving Okorocha to carry the can.
Trumpeta was told that if serious resistance is not mounted on the Presidency, Okorocha may have his way, as the concern of the President’s strategists is how to return Jonathan in 2015.
The latest scenario is causing tension among Imo PDP fat cats, as they believe that Okorocha is coming to reap where he did not sow, having abandoned the party for APGA in 2011.
“What if all of us had left PDP in 2011 like Okorocha, what would have remained of the party now that Okorocha wants to return?” PDP top shots queried Trumpeta when contacted on phone.
Meanwhile, Okorocha tacitly confirmed the latest romance with PDP while speaking in Nkwerre on Friday, during the burial of late Chief John Anyehie, where he said that political parties are mere vehicles which takes politicians to their target dreams, and therefore Imo people should not bother about political parties, but what each leader can contribute to the masses.
“We should forget about APC or PDP but elect those that will deliver the goods. We should ask Udenwa what was his legacies, Emeka Ihedioha what can you do for Imo people, Araraume, what have you done for Imo people, Hope Uzodimma what did you do for your people and Rochas Okorocha what did you do for Imo people?” Okorocha asked.
