Fresh Trouble for r Nnamdi Anyaehie, Dragged to Court Over PDP Chairmanship Position

This is not the best time for newly installed PDP Chairman of Imo State, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie. Still in mournful mood after the father’s burial last weekend, his party chairman designation is shaky follwing a suit filed by a stalwart of the party challenging his reported adoption
In the High Court of Imo State, holden at Owerri Judicial Division, a political activist and PDP member in the state, Nze Ebubeagu Ekenulo is challenging Anyaehie’s position and a declaration that the latter is not the state PDP chairman having not been elected or and appointed pursuant to the constitution of PDP 2012, as amended.
In the suit No HOW/166/2014, where PDP was joined as second defendant, Ekenulo sought from the court. “A declaration that the 1st Defendant is not the State party’ Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State having not been elected or and appointed pursuant to the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2012 as amended.
“A declaration that the arrogation and assumption of office of State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State by the 1st Defendant without regard to the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party [PDF) Imo state 2012 as amended is unconstitutional, unlawful, illegal, null, void and of no effect.
“A declaration that the claimant is a bonafide card carrying member of the 2nd Defendant’s Political party and is qualified with an interest to contest for the vacant post of State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State
“A declaration that the Claimant’s right to contest for the
office of the state party chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State has been infringed upon by the acts of the 1st, Defendant by illegally and unlawfully arrogating/assuming the office of state party chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State without due regard to the party’s constitution 2012 as amended.
“A declaration that the 2nd Defendant is under obligation to
ensure that the election or/and appointment of any party member to the office of state party chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State followed dues process specifically having regard to the Constitution of the part)/ 2012 as amended.
“An order of Interlocutory Injunction restraining the 1st Defendant from parading himself and or acting as the state party chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.
“An order of Interlocutory Injunction restraining the 2nd Defendant either by itself, servants, agents officers or however called from according, recognizing and or countenancing the 1st Defendant as the State Party Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit. “An order mandating/directing the 2nd Defendant to set-in motion the process whereby a constitutionally elected/appointed state party chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State would emerge having regard to the party’s constitution 2012 as amended.
“An order setting aside the illegal arrogation/assumption of the office of state party chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Imo State by the 1st Defendant without due process”
