All is now set for the inauguration of Agbekoya Farmers Association, Imo State Chapter by Senator Chris Anyanwu, representing Owerri Senatorial Zone in the Red Chamber.
Evangelist Cecilia Okebanama, the State Co-ordinator of the farmer’s association disclosed this in Owerri while addressing maiden members of the association in the State noting that the association was borne out of the State Government clarion call for a wholistic agricultural participation.
Evangelist Okebanama also informed that Senator Anyanwu played prominent role in ensuring the attraction of the Association to the State while commending her patriotic love for agriculture and members of her constituent.
Meanwhile, Chief Nwakanma Uka, the Chairman of the planning committee said that the occasion which is billed for this Friday (27/7/2012) at FSP, Wethral Road Owerri by 11 am and that many eminent farmers in the State have assured of their commitment to grace the occasion.
Chief Uka further informed that Senator Anyanwu will at the occasion give out interest free revolving loan to up coming farmers in her constituent so as to encourage them in their farming activities.
According to him more than 400 farmers in Owerri Senatorial Zone have been selected to benefit from the Revolving Agricultural Loan attracted by the Distinguished Senator representing the zone.
He re-assured that HRM Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri, the Chairman Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers will attend the occasion with other Royal fathers in the State as the Royal father for the Day.
