History was made yesterday at Aboh Mbaise as one of the illustrious sons of Oke Ovoro Mbaise, a business mogul, Mr Ugochukwu Remigus Ejere MD/CEO Sound of Abundance Nig. Ltd, declared his intension to run for Aboh Mbaise State Constituency Seat in Imo House of Assembly under the PDP.
While addressing the quality gathering of party leaders and faithfuls, Mr Ejere noted that he is in politics to serve the interest of the people and bring positive changes that will improve the dignity of life.
He added that when in 2009 he first declared his interest to run for the House of Assembly seat, Aboh Mbaise leaders advised him not to run as it was the turn of Nguru political block which made him to keep his ambition on hold and give his support to the choice of the people of Aboh Mbaise in the spirit of loyalty to leaders and party which Barr Mrs Ekeji is the beneficiary. Mr Ugochukwu also noted that if given the mandate which by the rotation of the seat among the 3 blocks of Aboh Mbaise and in the spirit of equity, it is Oke’s turn, he will serve for only one term and support the next block for their turn.
He assured the people of Aboh Mbaise that he will render efficient service to the people, sponsor bills that will attract dividends of democracy in Aboh Mbaise and ensure that Aboh Mbaise voice is heard in IMHA.
He commended the vibrant and purposeful representation of the past Aboh Mbaise Imo House legislators like Rt Hon Dikeocha, Hon Emeziem and Hon Iheanetu who he described as his heroes. He also noted that Hon Ngozi Pat Ekeji has done her best so far noting that it is time for positive change as he expects her to support him and the genuine aspirations of Oke Ovoro people.
Responding, the president of the association of former councilors in Aboh, a former President General of Nguru Political Forum and the Executive Vice Chairman of Aboh Mbaise LGA, Hon Cletus Ugwo noted that his aspiration is genuine and urged him to be ready to meet the high standards set by other distinguished sons of Oke Ovoro like Rt Hon Dikeocha who rose to be come the Speaker of the House. Hon Ugwo charged him to be dedicated and not to withdraw from the race as Nguru people who are currently holding the seat are law abiding people that respects the one tenure agreement for Imo House of Assembly Seat in Aboh Mbaise.
He told Mr Ejere to go round in his campaign and count on the support of Nguru and Enyiato people.
Others that made remarks- include Comr Raph Ajazieogu, Hon Onyeneke Bullet Hon Odoemene, leader emeritus, Hon Emma, Speaker, Oke Ovoro Political Parliament, Lolo Ngozi Ndu, Hon Ogechi Obegu who urged Aboh Mbaise people to support the aspiration of Mr Ugochuwku Ejere. In his own comment Nze Goodness Amaefule, former chairman of Aboh Mbaise stated that Ugochuwku Ejere is an Oke Ovoro son in whom they are well pleased.
Other dignitaries that graced the declaration include; the women leader of PDP in Aboh Mbaise, Nze Law Biaduo Chief Engr Charles Mbodopara, women leaders of the wards, and executive of the peoples Democratic Party PDP in all the wards among others.
