Okorocha Confesses, Says Nothing To Show For Spent N28bn on Rural Roads

The State Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha Tuesday at Ahiajoku Convention Centre New Owerri hinted that Imo Government has spent over N28b on rural road project, but added that there is nothing to show for it.
He made this known during his meeting with GLOs of the state.
The Governor raised eye brows on the shoddy jobs done by many contractors and warned that any job not captured will not be paid.
He also announced that he has dissolved all committees of the rural road project in order to correct the mistakes made in the past. He said after paying over 80% to contractors of the road project yet things are still in shambles. He advised all contractors in their own interest to go back to site and complete their jobs.
Okororcha further disclosed that henceforth the council of GLOs after their inauguration will be involved in handling major projects in their various communities adding the GLOs will serve as mini Governors in their area and should be prepared to receive him at any time.
He urged the GLOs to continue to complement his effort in brining development to the rural communities as well as advance the cause of humanity in their areas.
“GLO have the power to attract foreign investors and carry out Development Projects in their communities” Okorocha explained
