For the umpteenth time, the Minister Supervising Foreign Affairs, Prof. Mrs Viola Onwuliri has lambasted Okorocha’s led administration, saying that it is creating dynasty of poverty in Imo. The woman minister made this known last Monday while addressing group of journalists at PDP state secretariat office, along Okigwe road, Owerri. She raised eyebrows on the level of exploitation and mismanagement of resources by Governor Rochas Okorocha, adding that the rescue mission in the state is a centre of deceit. She therefore ask Imolites to reject Okorocha’s government on the ground that it cannot advance the course of humanity coupled with the fact that the Governor is using them to play politics against the president. She explained that because of the kind of discriminatory politics played by Owelle Rochas, Imo has now lost out from the national grid and international agencies. “Instead of collaborating with the federal government and the foreign agencies, the state Governor want to work in isolation and this in turn have brought hardship to our people” the minister said.
Speaking further, the minister reiterated her earlier demand that the Governor should account for all the billions he has collected from the federal government for developmental projects in the state.
In addition, she regretted why the Governor should continue to abuse Mr President by claiming that the federal government has not done any thing tangible for the state.
According to Prof. Onwuliri Okorocha’s statement is unacceptable because, President Jonathan is not discriminating, rather, he wants to develop all the states in Nigeria by providing good roads, free education, security, employment opportunities and more.
On the issue of Igbo president, the minister revealed that Okorocha or any other person in Igbo land can’t rise with APC because the party has no place for an Igbo man. She insisted that the state Governor can never make a head way in such a party where Yoruba and Hausa people are fully in control adding that Okorocha has been settled with the position of Chairman of APC Governorship forum.
Prof. Onwuliri maintained that nobody in APC Camp can wrestle power from President Goodluck Jonathan.
She further said that despite the security challenges that people are orchestrating in Nigeria, Jonathan is still making achievements in the country. The minister pointed out that recently Mr President signed the antigay bill into law to make sure that Christianity is fully protected in Nigeria. She also disclosed that Mr President went to the Holy land with members of his cabinet to uplift the country. “On no account will Jonathan be compared to Okorocha”. She said.
She advised Imo people to shun all the preachings of Okorocha who he said signed an Abortion Bill into Law to support killing of innocent babies in Imo.
Further more, the minister accused Okorocha of enriching only members of his family at the expense of the poor masses.
It would be recalled that towards the end of last year, Onwuliri fired at Okorocha requesting the state governor to give accounting monies he received in form of allocation from state government, instead of responding on how sure P Fund, Erosion control, flood money LGA Allocations, NDDC allocations and other Sundry monies were spent, Okorocha demanded that other past governors render their account of stewardship before he will do.
