The Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Imo state, Comrade Kenneth Emelu has said that there would have been no free education in Imo if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had won Gov. Rochas Okorocha at the Supreme Court earlier this year.
The Commissioner disclosed this during a courtesy call by members of the Grass-root Movement for Good Governance (GMGG) at the conference hall of the Ministry for Youths and Sports last Thursday, Comrade Ken Emelu further noted that if the result of the last Supreme Court had turned against the governor of Imo state PDP would have stopped all ongoing developmental projects in the state.
He disclosed that PDP had dragged the state government to court severally for same purpose which he said made the court to place a fine of N100, 000 to be paid directly to the governor of Imo state.
The apex leader of GMGG, Comrade Kenneth Emelu stated that the organization which is non-political is aimed at supporting the Rescue Mission Government and to inform Imolites of the good legacies of the administration., He commended the Rescue Mission for rapid transformation of the state and urged all members of GMGG to support and promote the good works of the governor in order for him to complete all ongoing projects. He urged them to also report areas of lapses.
Comr Emelu reiterated the achievements of Governor Rochas Okorocha within the last 3years, stressing that the Governor has proven that the state is definitely rich. He asked Imolites to ask the past PDP led government of Imo state how state’s funds were used.
The commissioner further noted that his 2years in office as the commissioner for Youth and Sports has recorded remarkable achievements as the landscape of Heartland football club has been changed for the better through the termination of sign-on-fees which is currently been fused into the salaries as players will now earn N.6million Naira monthly.
