From all indications, the tenure of the present members the Community Government Council, CGC will end this month.
The Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha made the disclosure during the stakeholders meeting held on Monday at Ahiajoku Convention Centre, New Owerri.
As part of preparation for their exit, Okorocha during the event charged all CGC members to give account of their stewardship and be prepared to handover after the election that will take place soon.
Okorocha directed that those who wish to contest should get ready adding that only credible persons will be duly elected in the various communities in the state.
Government House sources disclosed that the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) will conduct the election based on zero party.
It would be recalled that election of CGC members was scheduled for Dec. 15 2012 which till date has remained a mirage as the state government chooses its surrogates and allies as caretaker committee members of the CGC.
