Come December 31st 2013, all roads lead to Mbaise at St Brigid’s Podium Nnarambia , Ahiazu Mbaise as the entire leadership and members of the Peoples Democratic Party from Imo State and the 27 LGAs gather to receive an illustrious son of Mbaise nation, a philanthropist, a business mogul and a political Iroko, High Chief Chris Ewulonu, Mmirioma Ndi Imo, into the greatest party in Africa, the PDP,
In what may be described as another Ahiara Declaration, High Chief Ewulonu will be making his public declaration into PDP. The apex event for the year in Imo State will be chaired by Her Excellency, Prof Viola Onwuliri, Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs. while the special guest of honour will be His Excellency, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Omenke Ahuru Anya Mbaise and the vision of Imo. Chief Eze Duruihuoma SAN, Imo PDP and Chairman, National Population Commission who will be receiving Chief Chris into PDP will be the guest of honour accompanied by the members of the state exco of PDP. The father of the day will be an elder statesman,, a former federal minister, pioneer chairman of PDP and Imo Elders Council, pioneer chairman of Ezuruezu Mbaise Chief I.D Nwoga while Chief Mike Uzodimma, PDP chairman, Ahiazu will be the chief host.
High Chief Ewulonu who is an aviation expert, MD/CEO Skywatch Aviation Ltd was a financier of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA in Imo, a party where he vied for the Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency seat in 2011 elections. Mmirioma Ndi Igbo, an astute politician, member of Mbaise apex leadership group, Ezuruezu Mbaise has touched many lives positively in Mbaise and across the country. Before venturing into politics, he has rendered and continue to render selfless service to the people of Mbaise and beyond. He single handedly built a multibillion skills acquisition center comprising of 4-storey building at Nkwo Otulu market square where more than 3000 youths have been trained free. He has awarded scholarship to Mbaise sons and daughters and built ultra modern bore at Afor Oru and Umuorisi Otulu for the people of Mbaise, He also brought electricity to the people of Ihitte Ubi in Ahiazu Mbaise after their 30 years search for light and a strong supporter to the Mbaise Civic Centre building project.
No doubt, the public declaration of High Chief Ewulonu will attract timbers and calibers in politic, business and in the media as his thousands supporters will join him into PDP. The state publicity secretary of PDP Hon Barr Enyinnia Onuegbu has called on all party members and intending members from APC, APGA and others to attend the epoch making event.
