The game is up again. The stage is almost set. The madness,avarice,stealing,insincerity,mischief,betrayals,misgivings,deceits and lies, oath takings and all the various vices will soon start to play out again.Why not? That is liquidation time for some people and all the Politicians.
Without wave of mental vacillation or careless ambivalence,it is appropriate to state at the foregoing that it is the politicians and nay the entire electorates who put us(themselves)in the political mess we find ourselves at all times by the caliber of people we elect and vote for.The loss of our Representatives(Honorable Members we send to represent us) is our own making.We have been the cause of our own misfortune when soon after each elections,be it Presidential,Gubernatorial,Senatorial,House of Reps,State Assembly Members,we begin to cry foul and regret ever sending them to represent us.
It is so because we often sale our consciences,ask for upfront payment of our Democracy dividends during the Party Primaries mainly and and the main elections.Some people give the Aspirants/Candidates Bills,before they could either vote for them at the primaries or support them at the main elections.That is a very common practice which has plunged us in the box we are today.
What then would be the reward?When they get into such positions,the firts thing they do is not only to recoup but to shut their phones and contacts from all you.They no longer take your calls.They may be right,because you had eaten your food before washing your hands.
I want to take the case of Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Fed Assembly here,focusing for now on the PDP Fellows that wants to run or shown signs of running or already in the race.
Ahiazu/Ezinihitte People have vowed to get it right this time around.They have decided to drop the Bandwagon thing and the mad chase for money and “ira ose”.
They want to sacrifice the “ira/igwe ose” today to enjoy a greater and massive “ira/igwe ose” tomorrow through great empowerment and solid and holistic representation by their would be Representative(Fed House Member)come 2015.
They want a person of CHARACTER,INTEGRITY,INGENUITY,TACT,WISDOM,DISCERNMENT BUT ABOVE ALL HUMILITY,as best described by this Latin phrase:”MENS SANA IN CORPORE SANO”:”a sound mind that exist in a sound body”..That is the kind of person they want come 2015.NOT A MISFIT.A GREEDY PERSON AND A PROUD PERSON.
So many of them are trooping out now.But i think they should be advised by those who know or own them.Its no longer going to be business/politicking as usual.No way.we must get it right.We have men and materials to get it right.We have everything:Human and Divine to make sure we will never regret sending anybody to Abuja.
AHIAZU/EZINIHITTE,we know those who are or will be Contenders and those who are just Pretenders.And to those of them,i would urge them to sit back where they are and never allow the “wolves”to eat them up.
Our present Fed. House Member,Rt.HON NNANNA IGBOKWE,need not mention or written much about.Right from his time in the State Assembly or rather right from his entry into politics,Hon Igbokwe came with pump and pedantry.He came as serious Contender and has never looked back ever since.An astute Politician.Very intelligent and sound.So very tact.A master strategist.A known and ever resounding voice in the National Assembly,IS AND WILL ALWAYS REMAIN A CONTENDER ANY TIME, ANY DAY.
He is imply doing well in his Legislative functions/work, having learnt the work over time.I am very sure he may want to run for second term.It has become a rountine anyway.
But i must say that Hon.Igbokwe will always be a man to beat.HE IS AS EVER A VERY HIGH CONTENDER.You must have a lot of muscles to wrestle him.You must be able to match him money for money,”LEG FOR LEG”,”CONTACT FOR CONTACT”.That is Hon.Igbokwe for you.He is rooted and grounded.HE IS TO AHIAZU/EZINIHITTE FED.CONSTITUENCY, WHAT MANCHESTER UNITED IS TO ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.Though he has his minuses.We may go into that some time in the future.
A CERTAIN ENGR CHINEDU OKORIE,was in this race the last dispensation.He learnt on the job.The act/art of politicking.And it was a good study and knowledge for him.He has now matured and has learnt the “marshal acts” of politics very well.
Something went for him in 2010.After the PDP primaries,he never wavered.He remained calm,obedient to the party.He gave his unalloyed support to the part and the flag-bearer(HON.IGBOKWE).He spent his money for the party and even literally worked as a boot agent for PDP during all the Elections.That was the spirit.He never ran away from the party.He has ever remained loyal and committed.
But it was not a surprise anyway.He was able to do that because of his domain,his family background.The Grace/privilege/fortune of being “nwa onye nkuzi”,instilled in him the virtues of honesty,hard work,sincerity,intelligence(academic and domestic intelligence) and good morals.
His several yrs in the Oil and Gas Industry,(SHELL BP.CHEVRON, ETC)has exposed him to the lager and more complex world outside the one he knew in Mbaise Nation,and has given him a wider scope to DEAL WITH AND INTERACT MORE WITH THE GLOBAL WORLD AND EVENTS,ONLY APPROPRIATE TO THOSE WHO ARE CANDIDATES OF THE FED.HOUSE.A wonderful plus for him and the people he is going to represent.
These solid foundations and backgrounds will make him understand,predict and manage people and events as he delves into this new phase of life:POLITICAL LIFE.NO WONDER HE CAREFULLY CHOSE HIS POLITICAL MOTTO:”MMEKO UMUNNE”.In the future we may go into x-raying the Igbo Cosmology of “MMEKO UMUNNE”.
So,away from the “soap opera” environment of 2010 Politics,Chinedu Okorie now emerges as a more serious contender,and no longer a pretender.PEOPLE CAN BET THEIR MONEY ON HIM.
I know also of another “brain”,an Engineer too.A very sound and highly objective and principled man.He has ran a few times for this Fed House Position,but has always remained calm and magnanimous in defeat,and obedient.Never engaged in noise making nor thuggery.He has always given fellow Aspirants fight.The last PDP House of Reps Primaries,was an eye opener to all.He came in just few days to the Primaries,but took the whole place with storm.I bet anyone,if the guy had come in or started much earlier than he did,different tones would have been sung by now.
HE IS ENGR.DAN IHEAGWARA. GOOD AND HUMBLE MAN.He will always be up there.
An emerging amazon in the area:DORIS ANYANWU.They say she is a green horn.Yes she is.Do i dare call her a PRETENDER???i would be risking much if i do.But we should all be careful when a woman is in the race.Would she rely so much and heavily on her FAMILY NAME???THE DAUGHTER(ADA)LATE CHIEF SENATOR TONY ANYANWU???Would her coming out early impede her much latter in days ahead or limit her resouces???.I think she has a few things going for her.She is an “UMUOKIRIKA/EKWERAZU WOMAN”..She is from the same village with the MOST DISTINGUISHED SENATOR CHRIS ANYANWU.They could have the same human essence.They are sisters.YOU NEVER CAN TELL.Ahiazu/Ezinihitte People are GENDER friendly.
We have a few more in our subsequent write-ups,we bring them to the fore.But one thing is assured here.AHIAZU/EZINIHITTE FED.HOUSE SEAT,WILL NOT BE FOR SALE AGAIN,NOR FOR THE HIGHEST BIDDER.IT IS GOING TO BE FOR THE BEST BEHAVED AND THE BEST CHARACTER.we have the lowest common factors(l.c.f) to sift from those who have come to work for the common good and those who come to work for their selfish ends.
