Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barrister Humphrey Anumudu has described the recent rumour that he has joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, as very unfortunate and laughable.
Reacting in a telephone conversation, Barrister Anumudu said that it is unfortunate that somebody could sit in his house to manufacture such magnitude of falsehood. Adding that it is the handiwork of purveyours of falsehood borne out of their skewed imagination.
He explained that despite his next political interest there is no iota of truth as he has not dreamt of leaving the PDP to any other party for any reason.
Anumudu who suspected it could be handiwork of political marauders wallowing in skewed imagination observed that he cannot be dragged into such fairy tale.
According to him, “I have great respect for the press in Imo state for their high level of professionalism and balanced reportage. So in that circumstance, I expect that they should always try to verify their stories before publication. I am an open encyclopedia who could be assessed and reached at any given time”.
He made it clear that his purported deflation to APGA is not only blatant lie, but a calculated attempt to smear his reputation and therefore appealed to the manufacturers of the rumour for caution.
“If I want to leave the PDP for any other party, it should not come as a rumour. I have to make it a public matter because I am not a village champion politically”.
Anumudu who described the peddlers of the rumour as “busy bodies”, appealed to his numerous supporters and admirers to remain steadfast in prayers for the will of God to be done for Imo people.
Meanwhile a group of Imo Women under the aegis of Imo Women for Change have called on Barr Humphrey Anumudu to vie for Imo governorship in 2015 in order to salvage the state from the shackles of bad leadership.
Addressing newsmen, the President of the women group, Lolo Chioma Amanze noted that since the time of Mbakwe as Governor of Imo State, the people of Imo have suffered from bad leadership, promise and fail syndrome and governance on the screen of the television and pages of newspaper without anything on ground to benefit the masses.
She noted that after considering the poor infrastructure in the state, Imo Women for Change have seen in Barr Anumudu the credibility, vibrancy, vision, probity, accountability and his high sense of patriotism noting that he is the right person to occupy Imo Douglas House in 2015 as Governor.
“Barr Humphrey Anumudu is a man of the people, humble and ready to attend to the needs of Imolites. Imo people at home and abroad are calling on him to come and salvage Imo State from directionless administration in 2015. Failure to yield to the yearning of Imo Women for Change will force women of Imo to embark on hunger strike”, Lolo Chioma concluded.
