Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Samfor Nwankwo, says that Imo state Governor, Rochas Okorocha has left Imolite’s to their fate as he only came to rescue himself and family, with over N7Billion Imo state money stocked in China for Primary school uniforms.
The PDP Chieftain made this known while addressing a mammoth crowd of Ideato-North PDP members last weekend during a PDP rally of Chief Jerry Chuckwueke’s led Contact and Mobilization Committee held at the open play ground of Saint John’s Anglican Church in Osina Ideato-North Local Government Area.
Chief Samfor Nwankwo further noted that the Governor of Imo state has not delivered quality projects in the state since he became governor of Imo state, adding that aggrieved Imolite’s who had suffered under his administration have agreed to vote him out in the next general elections.
In his message, the Chairman of the Contact and Mobilization Committee, Chief Jerry Chukwueke stated that the Party (PDP) still stands firm as it recognized all gender, ethnic and religious groups in the country.
The Chairman also disclosed that Governor Rochas Okorocha’s absurd denial of borrowing funds from banks, had led to a newspaper publication recently where the governor criticized his curiosity and that of some other Imolite’s on issues concerning Imo state checks and balances since he became the governor.
He noted that of all the local governments visited by the Contact and Mobilization Committee, Ideato North has the greatest number of women representing the local government, and assured members of PDP in Ideato-North that they will observe free and fair democratic process, he further assured that the people of Ideato-North now owns the responsibility of choosing their representatives in any political/appointment positions, and urged the people to support the re-election of President Jonathan when he desires to contest.
Meanwhile, members of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and All Progressive Congress (APC) trooped out en-mass to the rally ground to portray their grievances over Governor Rochas Okorocha’s led government which they said they played major roles to ensure his victory but where disappointed with his policies and governmental programmes.
Speaking on behalf of the decamped members, Chief Joseph Amih (headache) and Rev. Pastor Isaac in their separate remarks reconvened their commitment to belong in the party PDP due to the mal administration of the seating governor Rochas Okorocha which have led to indiscriminate road projects littered all over the state and have been in deplorable conditions.
Admitting the decamped and new members, the Chairman of the Contact and Mobilization Committee, Chief Jerry Chyukwueke charged them all to return properties that belong to their former Party’s and register in their respective wards as they would be restored their positions, he urged for the reconciliation of PDP members and re-assured the Party’s preparedness to take over power in 2015, to restore good standard of living and revive the dilapidated sectors of the state’s economy.
Speaking earlier, the secretary of the Contact and Mobilization Committee and chairman of PDP in Ideato-North, Arch. Leo Munonye noted that members of the PDP in Ideato-North are building a strategic structure to capture victory in 2015, elections adding that efforts were also been put in place to accommodate decamped and new members into the PDP, he re-affirmed Ideato-North PDP solidarity in re-electing the President when he desires to contest in the upcoming elections.
